Washington Wizards center Jason Collins reveals he is gay

I was going to post my surprise that nobody had come out in sports decades earlier, since most sports originated in sexually liberal/tolerant societies, but after reading the medieval opinions in this thread...

 

It does say that in the Bible though, and he was just giving his honest answer to the question posed.

 

Leviticus 18:22
"Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin."

"If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense."

It doesn't matter. I'm not saying he's not entitled to his opinion on the matter, I'm saying that he was representing ESPN and he was publicly voicing a very unpopular opinion, which will most likely cost him his job.

 

There's only one way to settle this. Let's all enter a dark theater together and watch "Jason and the Argonauts." And may the best man win.

You mean in the same kind of vehement, public manner that many people in the media enthusiastically support homosexuality?

So everybody in the known universe--including Ellen DeGeneres, Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, President Obama, and the New York Times--has a right to weigh in on this and sing Collins' praises, but Chris Broussard has no right to offer a different opinion. Is that what you're saying?

Huh? Are you serious? Jesus worshipped in the temple every Sabbath, as all Jews did, in accordance with the old testament law. He also honored his mother and father, and kept all of the 10 Commandments, which of course come from the Old Testament. Not sure which Bible you've been reading.

 

Of course, but that's not what the original poster said. He said Broussard was just a paid mouthpiece and shouldn't be offering his opinion on this subject.

Honestly? The media are enthusiastically forcing people to commit homosexual acts and are vehemently denouncing those who do not? I hadn't noticed that.

 

The word homosexual is in the Bible? Not the King James version or the Revised Standard Version, the ones I carried to Sunday School. Nowadays, there are many politicized translations, which translate the word where it did not appear before.
