And I bet he could be had for cheaper than JR or Jack. He's been ballin out of his mind lately.

He's been the Bulls best guard with Rose out. All season.

He's streaky though. He's just as likely to put up 30 in a game as he is to go 4-20.

Seems like a nice guy to have on the bench who could start at either position in a pinch.

After we figure out the center position, I can see us targeting him (if still available).

I wonder if Jamal Crawford will get in his ear to stay away from Portland. But without Nate, it is a different team.

Edit: I mean without Nate MacMillan of course.

I Wouldn't be upset if we grabbed him. Although I'm not a big fan of an undersized SG combo type. I Would much rather have a defensive minded, post up type. I think we have the shooters and need other intangibles.

We have that shooters that we need in the starting lineup. Off the bench we have no shooters.

The guy isn't a shooter, he's a scorer. That's why he can be in the league at his size.

At times he is both. But I agree that he is more of a streaker shooter and is just in to hopefully get hot and score a lot to get you back in a game. I mean CHI was down by 15-20 with 3 mins left weren't they?

True, I guess i should be more specific. I'm not a fan of the Crawford type scorers. I want efficient scorers. Players that can score, but at a high %.

I don't want him on the team. Wesley and Batum are already one too many streaky point contributors.

I like what Nate rob brings, but I prefer a maynor type at backup pg.

Another cheap option will be boobie gibson

I actually like that he's more of a scorer. That's precisely what we need from our backup guard because with our current team, we have no other scorers out there.

Unfortunately, if DRose keeps on being mentally unavailable in the playoffs, Nate might price himself out for us.

I don't imagine Nate getting $5M or more per season. Maybe half that.

Fans are usually very critical of scorers who come off the bench. Because they come in cold, and are not given as many minutes to get into a ryhthm. they all tend to be streaky. They are either
on or off that night. I just think it is really difficult to find highly efficient scorers off the bench that shoot farther than 4 feet from the basket. We need to accept that shooters coming in cold off the bench will be streaky.

Then maybe it's Matthews that needs to come off the bench then.

Crawful woulda been fine if he had the role he has now in LAC. The problem was Nate trying to turn him into BRoy, who was ultra efficient and could set up his teammates. Put him in a more limited role like I can see us doing with Nate if he came here, and you've got a great bench scorer.

Agreed. Nate rob has been playing like this his entire career and the guy gets tossed around like a 10 cent prostitute. I think 2.5 per yr would do the trick. Something like 3 yrs 8 million

Now that it looks like there isn't going to be a SEA team you probably still will get a lot of players that want to play in Portland.

That would not be horrible. We need one more player on this team to attack the basket. Wes is not that player. Don't think Nic is either. So yes get a SG who can, let Nic spread the floor and bring Wes in off the bench.

If we can't get the unbalanced trade to get the center we want, then upgrade the SG spot and pick up a couple cheap centers.
