Re: Arenas Feeling Bitter Towards McMillan And D'Antoni <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Washington Post - Gilbert Arenas' experience with Team U.S.A. has left him with a bitter taste in his mouth, particularly about assistant coaches Nate McMillan and Mike D'Antoni."I'm going to be the silent assassin this year," he said. "I can't wait to play the Suns and Portland. Against Portland, Nate McMillan, I'm going to try to score 100 in two games and against D'Antoni, I'm going to score 100 in two games. I'm going to try."</div>http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...an_and_dantoni/I get excited about things like this, I cant wait to see how he does against them. However, He should be concerned more about getting the Win then scoring points.
Re: Arenas Feeling Bitter Towards McMillan And D'Antoni I think Gilbert Arenas is being ridiculously childish. He's playing the underdog card too hard now. The team didn't think he fit, he needs to get over it and maybe lead his team somewhere instead of threatening huge ballhog performances against certain teams. Add this with his not obeying police earlier this summer, i've lost a lot of respect for Arenas.

Re: Arenas Feeling Bitter Towards McMillan And D'Antoni <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'> F*ck the haters.</div> Your supporting a guy who wants to score 100 points because of some little squabble for not making the team. Ridiculous, this is like Kobe apologists. This guy is still immature and hasn't learned from the past(All-Star comments anyone, his recent run in with the law, his draft comments). He's about himself and that's why he will be a loser for his career.

Re: Arenas Feeling Bitter Towards McMillan And D'Antoni Hmm, maybe this is the exact reason why they didnt put him on this years team. Arenas comes off to me as a somewhat greedy player and person. Arenas isnt a pure point guard and would be taking shots away from LeBron, Melo, and Wade. I bet Arenas just couldnt adjust to the playing style Coach K wanted to play. The USA team needs a point gaurd who will control the tempo, doesnt turnover the ball, plays defense, and knows his role on the team. Thats what Chris Paul and Kirk Hinrich are going and they are fine with that. These remarks by Areneas just make it that more justified. Do you really want a guy running your team that says he going to try and score 100 points against a team just because he doesnt like the opposing coach? If Paul or Hinrich would of been the one that was cut, i gauruntee you wouldnt hear something like that from them.

If he scores that much the rest of are team only has to score 60 points(20 by caron, 20 by jamison, 20 by the rest of the players ) to get 110 which puts them as very hard to outscore. Plus who says you can't score 50 and not be selfish? He could still get 10 assist to go along with his 50 points

Re: Arenas Feeling Bitter Towards McMillan And D'Antoni Having 50 points along with 10 assists doesn't make you NOT a ballhog...it just means your player is holding onto the ball WAY too much....

Re: Arenas Feeling Bitter Towards McMillan And D'Antoni He has a perfectly fine complaint. He didn't get a fair shake. Wade was the only better guard on the team. I don't understand why he couldn't just come off the bench instead of Joe Johnson, who hasn't played well. Gilbert played well, he hustled, he really wanted to play, and got cut.
Re: Arenas Feeling Bitter Towards McMillan And D'Antoni I would've picked him over Antawn Jamison but maybe his ego is why he didn't make the team. Jamison doesn't have as much of an ego and can play the 3/4 spot which isn't as loaded as the 2 spot or point guard.
Re: Arenas Feeling Bitter Towards McMillan And D'Antoni :g: i don't c anything wrong with what he said, that's how competitors are...........it's personal in a good way...........it's not like he's calling them names. it's like facing the team that traded u away, u will always have that extra fight in you every time you face them.
Re: Arenas Feeling Bitter Towards McMillan And D'Antoni This doesn't suprise me, Gilbert has show signs of being immature in the past. Anybody remember when he flicked off the Celtics bench? That was great, what was even better was when Pierce drained a 3 in his face to win that very same game. Arenas said it was honor just to throw on the USA jersey earlier this summer before the team had started playing. If it's such a honor, then stop bitching about how many points you score.
Re: Arenas Feeling Bitter Towards McMillan And D'Antoni Seeing as most of the Wiz fans are siding with Arenas, I stand by them being apologists. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>He has a perfectly fine complaint.</div> The issue isn't about the complaint of being cut to me, it's all how he states he will score 100 against them because of this ill fated cut. It just adds on to his past instances if ego-itis that makes me think he still hasn't got it. His me vs. the world attitude needs to end. I think BCB said it best, if anyone else were to get cut, would you expect a similar response? I would bet no.
Re: Arenas Feeling Bitter Towards McMillan And D'Antoni He's a competitor. Now he has the extra motivation to go out and be the best he can be and show the world how good he is. Judging by how well this past season went, that is a great sign. Should he have said some of those things publically? Probably not, but to me that is more of a sign of being a fierce competitor moreso than being an immature dousche bag.
Re: Arenas Feeling Bitter Towards McMillan And D'Antoni Actions speak louder then words, I'm all for it if he goes out there and leads his team to a win against Suns/Blazers. I'm not for choosing choice words in this particular case, saying he's going to score 100 is ridiculous. I expect the same result when he said he would be the All-Star MVP, and that's a unfulfilled action. Also, there's more to Wiz then Arenas, for him to make those games against Suns and Blazers his agenda and not the teams is selfish. Does that make him a fiery competitor, yes but a winning one? No imo.
Re: Arenas Feeling Bitter Towards McMillan And D'Antoni this thing is getting blown out of proportion, yes he shouldn't have said it i agree............but i don't c anything wrong with what he said, do i think he's gonna score a 100 on them........more likely not.was he hurt for being cut from the team, of course...........he was just talking thrash that's all :nasty:
