Yes my understanding is trades can happen as soon as both teams are done. But since it one would probably include our pick I would doubt anything happens until the lottery. Just in case we win......
Frankly the more I see of Denver's C's the less impressed I am, Koufus is having a bad series and Mcgee I just don't know about for 10-11 mil per. Meh meh meh
McGee is a bonehead. We would be a much better team spending the $$$ on Iggy and Jermaine Oneal while keeping our pick and taking a guy like Alex len or trading down a few spots for dieng.
7:20 in the 3rd is a perfect example of what we would get from McGee. Spectacular block on Bogut, but the Warriors get the ball back and the pass goes right back into a wide open Bogut for a dunk. McGee totally lost his man. Karl then pulls him.
I am beginning to think we might be better off just getting a journeyman Center that can start for 1-2 years until a Leonard or Len is ready. These Centers that are going to be available are just not worth the price.
The Dude doesn't put a lot of stock into +/-, nor do I care either way if we get McGee, but he was a +8 last night. Had 9/10/1 in 26 minutes. The guy is young and is a lot better long term fit than any Blazer center for as long as I can remember.
If you did, you'd check his +/- over the season. I'm hoping Olshey is smart enough to realize that McGee (and his double, DeAndre Jordan) are fool's gold.
With the right team, McGee would succeed. Denver doesn't play to his strengths. They are a run and gun team. If you have a half court heavy team, I suspect him being so much better.
Why do you think he would be better on a half court team? He has little/no offense in a half court set. He seems to run pretty well. I thought he was better on a team like Denver. Although I admit GS is not a good match up for him as Karl elected (Until last night) not to play his centers much. My problem with him is he does not seem very smart on D. He is still young, but is he willing to learn? He has the physical tools. Or does he think because of his contract he has already arrived? I have no doubt he will be on the trading block. I agree that with the right team/coach he could succeed. Not sure though if that team is Portland.
Because he still sets good picks and is a good offensive rebounder. At least in terms of talent. Also, he's for the ability to post up. He needs a mentor to develop that part of his game. Aldridge can help and possibly bringing in Hakeem will help too.
