Noah is putting up beast numbers on one foot, Nate Robinson is beating the odds, Deng just got tested for a lethal disease...I'm just saying. I think him coming back and only putting up like 16 points or something like that would go over with the media as opposed to not playing at all.
He came back 7 months later, and he tore his ACL and MCL, no? Or was it an ACL and meniscus? I mean, we're what...14 months in to Rose's timetable?
Jordan didn't hurt anything. he just went and played baseball. He sucked for half a season (compared to his usual self) and the team did worse in the playoffs with him than the season before (IMO). I'll defend Rose's decision to sit out the entire year, come hell or high water. I want him to be 100% and fully confident. I don't want to see him score 16 on .200 shooting and have the fans down on him.
I'm pretty confident that the difference between now and next season is minimal. It is a step in his rehab to actually play basketball, like Iman did (and sucked for a little bit), Rose is going to be awkward when he gets back on the court but his value is always a positive. We want to win games. More importantly, the team wants to win. Derrick would help that.
I agree, but I think he should actually play basketball during the summer league or preseason, get to know his teammates, etc. By the time regular season starts, he'll have all the rust off. I hope
It's anyone's guess. At this point I'm not sure it matters one way or the other. As much as I believe in this team, I have a hard time seeing them beating the Heat in a 7 game series. As much as I believe in Derrick, I'm not sure how you can step in after 13 months of inactivity and have a lot of rust and mis-communication with your teammates who've played the year without you.
Sure he could return. I don't expect his return on Monday, but I would welcome his return. I don't think that the Bulls will beat the Heat with Rose, but it would be good to see him playing again.
Nick Friedell @NickFriedell 7m Rose speaks again. Says he sill hasn't ruled out playing. "It's still up in the air"
At this point I've stopped thinking about it. Derrick's been capable of playing for months now but has chosen not to do it. As a fan it's disappointing, but in the long run nothing has the importance of Derrick coming back at 100%. If he does people's memories will look pretty damn short. And at the moment, I'm not sure he'd do a better job as being Derrick Rose than Nate Robinson.
