Randolph was averaging two 3PA per game with the Knicks and Clippers

    Same player, right?

I'm sorry that I used a statistic to back up my claim that Randolph was a different player before Memphis.

None of us have any "authority" on the issues, this is forum were we discuss our opinions on the matter. Mine and yours differ, just like a lot of posters, and because ours differ you want to stop having the conversation. Great I can deal with that but don't try and call me out with some BS authority post trying to act like your opinion is better or more informed then mine is.

So basically statistically he's pretty much the same player....with the exception of he took 1.5 more 3-point attempts per game for one season in which he started the year playing for Mike D'antoni in NY...then being traded mid-season the the clippers?

    you got me.

Andre Miller got us Felton who got us Jared Jeffries. And somewhere in there, we agreed not to draft Faried. So our capspace got us Jared Jeffries. That's it.

We were picking Oden no matter what. It wasn't hinging on whether or not we wanted to keep Zach. We should've kept Zach to play WITH Oden, not instead of.

With Zach starting, the Blazers are 3-1 in the playoffs. He ALWAYS played well. Look at the box scores in the 2003 series Games 4-6. Watch the tapes if you still have them. He was fantastic then. He's fantastic now. And it's a testament to his commitment to his game that we can say that 10 years later.

He always cared about winning. He is why we almost won in 2003. It's the last time we've seriously competed in a playoff series. You can't hold it against him though that he couldn't win with Telfair and Ha. Not even Tim Duncan could.

By this logic that would mean this could drag out forever. Sorry, doesn't work like that.

Steve Francis' contract ended and the Blazers had cap space to get Andre Miller. The Blazers didn't need extra cap space to sign a player like Jeffries.

And then Steve Patterson and John Nash signed him to a horrific contract that he couldn't possibly live up to (and didn't). He was traded twice more after leaving the Blazers until he landed in Memphis and grew up, and good for him. I actually like ZBo.

But he didn't for US which is what this about. He played GREAT for us. Look at the box scores for Games 4-7 where he started for the Blazers in the playoffs. Zach helped us make NBA History (one of only three teams to force game 7 after trailing 0-3 with Zach on the bench) TEN YEARS AGO. He has ALWAYS been good.

We traded Miller for Felton! We traded Felton for Jeffries! We'll get nothing for Jeffries. It ends there. We're not getting anything for Jeffries.

We used the capspace we got from Jeffries to help us facilitate a S&T for Dwight, or Asik, or Hibbert, or... okay i'll wake up now.

    Nope

The Blazers will shed Jeffries' $1.4M salary and use it this off-season on a player, who will be traded for cap space, used on a player, traded for another player, and it goes on forever

Blazers sadly lose Game 7. Randolph has 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists (maybe he passed too much)

It sucks we lost the series, but we were 3-1 with him as a starter. He was a great player then, he's a great player now.

    He wasn't an all-star until 2010.

But he played like one in the 2003 NBA Playoffs. You don't magically become a better player when they finally recognize you as an All Star. Randolph was always good.

We shouldn't have traded Zach. We should've been looking for the Gasols and Conleys to put around him.

A dick post by you, by the way. I present those box scores to you, and instead of acknowledging that he played well, you say he wasn't an All Star. What does that have to do with how well he played? Stephen Curry isn't an All Star either and he's the best player in the playoffs right now.

No one has ever really debated that Randolph is a good player. But there was a time he was grossly overpaid and not worth his contract. That's just a fact.

He was then traded from multiple teams before landing in Memphis where he has played the best basketball of his career, earning all-star and all-team selections.

He played great playoff winning basketball in Portland ten years ago. He was good then.
