Im more worried about how he would affect those around him, rather than himself.

Will anyone want to lay it all on the line for him if he acts the way he (can on occasion) act? Its a huge IF, and his next suspension could be worse than the previous ones. Just so much risk involved, it would be tough to decide.

Also, that lineup looks great. Iggs is going to be pretty damn expensive though - I worry about not having a real 6th man.

Jefferson is a power forward playing center. Picking Jefferson would essentially be keeping Hickson. Jason Collins is horrible. We aren't going after him.

I think there is a certain level of respect a young player will have on an existing established player. I think Matthews and Aldridge could keep him in check. In SacTown, he is the big fish, so he has this sense of "Me" on that team. When he goes to a team with an existing star big, I think he may defer more.

    I'm right there with you.

I just think Sac will ask for a lot more than I'd be willing to give for him.

Especially because it would leave us with a whole at SF, sixth man.

I agree, but that whole isn't as much of an issue as a center. Personally I think the reward outweighs the risk. I like Batum, but I question just how good he can be, being the 3rd option. I think having Cousins would be a better 3rd option, IMO.

Don't you know that it's good to keep your options open?

Still one "Unknown" option is Mozgov. He wants out of Denver if the situation stays the same.
One would conclude that he must suck if George did not give him any minutes. But I am a little suspicious of that. George coaches differently than others. He always has. I don't think a center in general fit in well with what he wanted to do this year. Let alone 3 of them. For much of the season they were pretty deep and played fast and small. Hard to get Mozgov minutes.

Karl even said a few months ago he felt sorry for the guy because he could play, he just didn't have room for him and George is not one to mix words. He is can be blunt and brutally honest.

All I am saying is don't sleep on Mozgov. He played well in NY in his short time there. Some in the NY media think the Knicks will go after him. We can offer more without going crazy.

I like Mozgov but if we went that option I would want to pair him with someone like Dalembert where both didn't haven't to play huge minutes.

I think we need 3 centers for sure.

    Mozgov?

    Yeah, he's the missing piece.

I don't think the center is our missing piece. I think we need a wing that isn't afraid to get to the line and create his own shot. Kevin Martin is the free-agent I want to go after.

    Yes, it is.

It's currently the biggest hole, even more so than depth.

I agree that it's a big hole, but a hole that can be filled with role playing centers (mainly defensive minded). What we need is that slashing guard that can create his own shot and get to the line. That guard will keep the defense honest. Our center needs to block shots, rebound and defend. It can be a one dimensional player.

To take than next step you need more of an upgrade at center than just role players.

We went down that road with Pryzbilla.

Are you insinuating that any of the centers we have been discussing for the last 2 months are the missing piece? I agree with Mags, I don't think a center is our missing piece. I think it is a SG.
(But sorry Mags..... Kevin Martin sucks)

With Pryzbilla, we reached the playoffs three years in a row. And his performance in those playoffs weren't bad. Our problem was our coach and the ISO heavy offense.

Got any suggestions then? I am looking for a player that can shoot and create his own shot; but must be able to slash and get to the line.

    Mozgov? Gortat? Jordan? Mc-jeez?

That's the type of thinking that'll keep this team on this treadmill.
