<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Branch filed two grievances against the Patriots after the team refused to accept trade offers from the Seahawks and Jets by a Friday 4 p.m. deadline imposed by the Pats, the Boston Globe reports. The grievances allege that the Patriots failed to negotiate in good faith over an extension of Branch's contract and broke a verbal agreement to trade him for a ``fair and reasonable offer." It is thought that the Patriots let Branch seek offers in the belief that the market would not bear much in the way of lucrative offers, but the Jets and Seahawks blinked, reportedly offering six-year deals worth roughly $39 million. The Pats turned down offers of compensation from the teams -- the Jets offered a second-round draft pick -- and he remains New England property, though obviously this issue hasn't been settled yet.</div><div align="center">Source</div>
First of all, I don't think that the Patriots want to trade him. He's one of their best receivers. And second, can somebody explain this grievance thing to me.... What happens after a player files one?
