He is actually a pretty good pick and roll player though, and uses his exceptional quickness to get to the basket....and POR is certainly now a pick n roll oriented team...so the fit could be there....Not saying that is enough to make him an NBA caliber player, and it will be interesting to see if he is able to finsih vs bigger\stronger\more athletic NBA types, but as a 2nd round flyer, I think he is intriguing.... I don't how you say he is a shitty decision maker either, when he had over a 2 to 1 Asst\to ratio this year..... This is all moot when it comes to POR though b\c I just don't see them drafting a rookie PG as a b\u to Lillard...I think tey are going to want to go with a vet, but you never know...
Now I've actually read about some players (I don't follow college BBall), here are the players I'm interested in: Dieng Oladipo Carter-Williams Dennis Schroeder Giannis Adetokunbo Tony Mitchell Jamaal Franklin Allen Crabbe Livio Jean-Charles Tim Hardaway Jr.
Wolters certainly looks fun to watch. He's a poor man's Steve Nash. We badly need defense at the PG, though.
NBADraft.Net seconds something I'd thought myself: the NBA comparison for Jamaal Franklin is... Will Barton.
He is the reason we traded Bayless. Nate said he passed Jerryd in the rotation during training camp. At start of season, we all thought he was a part of our future core. I remember MM of all people considered him to be one of the few untouchables.
Yes, but at some point the forum soured on him like he threw a towel in Sabonis' face. I couldn't see why and still thought he will prove us all wrong when he signed with New Jersey but they didn't re-sign him and now I don't think he even plays professional basketball anymore.
Huh? Rasheed Wallace threw that towel in Sabas' face. It wasn't his only meltdown. Detroit should feel lucky they weren't Portland, because Rasheed the Whack-a-doo would have received even more techs. What a headcase that clown was.
For the record, Sabonis deserved that towel. He was out of position and kept hitting Sheed's head with his elbow.
Lotto guys (in order): *Victor Oladipo *Otto Porter *Shabazz Muhammad *Anthony Bennett *Cody Zeller *Steven Adams *CJ McCollum *Kelly Olynyk Digging for diamonds in the rough: *Nate Wolters *Shane Larkin *Lucas Nogueira *Dennis Schroeder *Alex Abrines
OK Fez educate me. I need someone to tell me why Otto Porter is rated so high. What skills does he have that warrants a top 3 pick. Is he that good of a defensive player? Because offensively from what I have seen, he is very raw. Even their local paper was un-sure of what NBA skill he possessed. I mean I can see him in the 12-20 range, but top 3? This one baffles me.
This always happens: I don't give a shit about college players until after the season ends, then I watch footage obsessively before the draft and fall in love with particular players. I've pretty much given up on getting Oladipo (getting into the top three was the shot) so now I'm fixating on this trio: Gorgui Dieng Dennis Schröder Jamaal Franklin Get me those three and we have upgraded our defense and grit exponentially. Plus become much more exciting. I can see them coming off the bench as a trio and really clamping down. Buy the Mavs pick, use that on Schröder. Trade our #10 for Atlanta's #17 and 18 and take Dieng and Franklin. Then I'm happy. Until they prove my love misguided, that is.
