Related topic. I saw the 2013 rock and roll hall of fame ceremonies on cable last night. From the hof site: Four of this year’s inductees — Heart, Randy Newman, Public Enemy and Rush — are confirmed to perform at the event, which will also honor Albert King and Donna Summer; as well as Lou Adler and Quincy Jones, this year’s recipients of the Ahmet Ertegun Award for Lifetime Achievement.
Macklemore and Lewis killed it. I've been listening to them since 2010 in Seattle. That moment when your favorite indie band is all grown up. Happened to me with Depeche Mode, then NIN, then Pearl Jam, then a long gap of overproduced major label crap. Last time I saw Mack was at the Crystal last fall. Yeah, its great when shit like that happens. I heard the other day that they were the first duo (specific, I know) to have it's first 2 singles go #1 on Billboard. Factoring in that they are independent, I can't imagine how much dough they are making off of this album. So great to see the actual artists rewarded for their hard work and YEARS of hustling.
