I dunno what the term for this might be but Colangelo has been fired as GM of the Raptors but will remain on as team president. I'm not sure how that works but he's going to be in charge of the business end of the franchise while a new GM takes over the daily operations of the team. The new GM will not answer to Colangelo but to Leiweke.
I think its a means of letting BC find a new job gracefully. At worst he will work at what he's good at, marketing and building relationships. Either way, I'm happy.
I'm not. MLSE should've had balls and not let Jerry Colangelo and Larry Tannenbaum bully them. The talk of keeping Colangelo on to improve our standing in the league and our chances at an ASG is ludicrous. Colangelo's done a shit job and deserves to be shit-canned end of story. Having him take over the meddling role of Richard Peddie is worrisome. Having him in the ear of Tannenbaum and the board and looking over the new GM's shoulder is worse. We might wind up with Stefanski running the club and if that's the case having him and Colangelo (and Casey) still here is no change at all.
