Or, pointing out that a woman has a voice deeper than most men, and looks like Tayshaun Prince with dreads, somehow becomes a sign of insecurity. I find it pointing out the obvious. She has a deep voice, she can play hoops as well as I've ever seen a woman play hoops, and she looks a bit like Tayshaun Prince in terms of body type.

I think the real problem is people who make misleading thread titles about harmless player interviews.

Not phat, but morbidly OBESE. It's to the point where the city government is regulating just how many fast-food places can be on one street. I think S2 has a Houston based Blazer fan who can shed some light on this.

Was this actually a rumor or did Simmons just throw it out there as a hypothetical?

Hypothetical, Simmons loves to come up with draft ideas in the off season and he threw this one out there as well as Kevin Love for the #1. Its gotten a lot of attention because of how the media has gotten the "Hypothetical first #1 pick traded in almost 20 years" bug.

The whole "I'm here now" routine never sounds good to me. "Hey, Bob, thanks for taking the job, how do you like it so far?" "Well, I'm here, aren't I?"

The difference, of course, being that your employer cannot trade you to another company in your industry. That's what Lamarcus was responding to--the suggestion that the team could trade him. So in context, his response was essentially saying, "Well, they haven't traded me, so I'm still a member of the Trail Blazers, and that's the only team that matters to me right now."

In regard to the question that was asked, what would you have wanted him to say?

How about, "You know the majority of the geeks on S2 want to trade me, so whatever. Just CTC, man."

It could also be "seriously, you guys need to find a hobby during the off season instead of obsessing over everything one of us says about the city of Portland. Apparently you guys are good at reading tea leaves, try that"
