He was holding out for marriage. It never happened so he gave in.

I wonder if before he took his first bite, he said, "Engage"?

I'm pretty sure he's referring to not having real new york style pizza before. That's why he said 'pizza "slice"' and not 'slice of pizza.'

    tl;dr you're dumb.

I always find it weird how sometimes when people havent tried or done something it almost becomes like a challenge at times to purposely avoid doing it. Like not doing becomes a game or a way of life at that point. For example I have never seen the movie Grease. And at this point I refuse to see it simply because I enjoy the reaction on people's face when I tell them I havent seen it.

That's not pizza though. It's cardboard with ragu poured on it.

So, in all those years, you never, you know, walked by a pizza place, you’re hungry, you decide to go in and try a slice? How come that never happened?

I know, it’s hard to understand, isn’t it? But, you know, I would go in there and order a pizza and eat a whole pizza. It was the concept of the slice that I had never encountered before.

I have never seen most of the TV shows, movies, and songs that this board idolizes. I have always preferred reading and watching nonfiction to fiction.

Capt. Kirk later said that of course he has eaten pizza. I read many such artices and wonder, what's that about? This thread explained it.
