Im not a wii guy so it comes down to PS4 or Xbox one for me. Good specs on both so far, the required internet connecton for xbox is a little offputting. Does that mean xbox live is still pay for and is it also required? I also heard good things about the kinect 2, suppose to be a real leap forward but I dont know many details, either way it will be 100x the playstion's move.

I think I will go Sony PS4 first but I will probably wait till next year to get it. That's if they don't put out a good deal on trading in your old system on the new one like they did before.

I'm holding onto mine just cause PS4 wont be backwards compatible. Too much great stuff on PS3 that I want to keep! :)

Games are like movies for me, I don't usually play them more than once so the backwards compatible part doesn't bother me. I did hear launch price will be between $300-$400 for both consoles so that's not to bad, but I dont play enough anymore to really justify paying that right away. Also I like to wait for the 2nd gen of a system so a lot of the bugs are worked out.

Yeah normally it wouldnt, but I have a crap ton of games that I havent beat, that I am doing myself no favors by not playing. Hopefully I'll have the time since I wont be upgrading to next gen for a while. I'm embarrassed by my "game of shame" list :(

this. Never ever EVER buy right away. You find yourself screwed over with all the annoyances and bugs. Basically its paying more for something that doesnt work properly yet.

I must subscribe to this motto since right now I have an NES, SNES, N64 and Wii (somehow I've never owned, or even played, a game cube). Not that I play any of them all that much. I do miss my PS2 that broke back in college. I think I'd like either the PS4 or new Xbox, but I just don't play enough to justify buying a system. That, and I like to spend too much money already, so one more expensive hobby probably isn't the best idea for me.

I'm terrible at this, as I've got older I just don't have the patience I use to have with games. Metal Gear is at 3/4 done, skyrim about 1/2, GTA about 1/2 also. Plus a few I bought and barely started. Last game I finished was God of War 3, its such a fast pace easy to learn hard to master game that it fit just right. Been meaning to pick up the new GoW but haven't got around to it.
