The name change process apparently takes up to 18 months in the NBA. That's how far in advance you need to plan if you want to make a big change, one like new MLSE President Tim Leiweke has tabled. While most fans have interpreted this as being yet another jersey change there is an outside chance the Raps could drop the dinosaur motif altogether and go with a more traditional team name, such as the Huskies (circa 1946), with a blue-and-white color scheme (like every other team in the city except Toronto FC). However, Leiweke is also interested in spreading the brand across Canada so losing the colour red seems unlikely. The Toronto Star is running a contest for would-be jersey designers. http://www.thestar.com/sports/raptors/2013/06/03/toronto_raptors_contest_new_name_new_uniform.html
I kind off like the Huskies name and the blue/white colour scheme like the other toronto teams. But MLSE wants to make it "canada's team" so i doubt they will stray away from red. I like the Brooklyn style ones or would love if they did something like Golden State but with the CN tower
