Keep in mind that Dario Saric has changed his mind virtually every step of the way along the draft process. Its a strange strange situation. -- DX

I don't think you can compare Bayless to Muhammed at all.....

Bayless = undersized SG, with spotty outside shot who could drive\get into the lane but had issues finishing....

Muhammed = Perfectly sized SG (is he too slow? I do not think he is) with decent outside game, very good post up game and ability to draw fouls...a finisher not a facilitator...

Yeah, I don't think the comp to Bayless fits at all. Also, doesn't Shabazz have long arms? Versus Bayless' little stumps.

Shabazz reminds me of Jalen Rose a bit. His handles and playmaking probably won't be as good, but similar kind of scoring skills, lefty, long arms, etc.

Both Bayless and Muhammad were hyped scorers in high school who are not team players. Bayless was too small for a SG, Muhammad is too small for a SF. Yes, Muhammad says he's a SG, but Bayless thought he was a PG, too. Wouldn't it be nice to have a SG who has better than average ball-handling skills?

Not a huge fan of a SG who has difficulty creating his own shot but also can't shoot that well and has succeeded so far by overpowering his high school/college opposition. Jalen Rose played POINT GUARD in college. Muhammad played small forward.

Who do you suggest? While I think Monta, Mayo, and Evans have better ball-handling skills than Wes, I don't think any of them are better at basketball.

Those are good points. Shabazz is not a creator (for himself or others) and at the NBA level he will have to accept not being "the man" on offense. Nothing he showed at UCLA indicates he can make that transition.

I would also agree. If he can't show the Blazers that he has the potential to create for himself then I would pass on him. I say potential because everyone of these draft picks has a flaw. And if they can't improve then they will never stick. Personally I think Shabazz will be able to create his own shot, but I would defer to the Blazers coaches and GM to decide for sure.

    Not worried about his passing.

    He has Lamar Odom-like potential.

On the same train of thought.

At the end of it all, would love to see any two of Dieng/Len/Gobert + Shroeder in a Blazers uniform.

The Trail Blazers continued their workouts in preparation for the June 27 NBA draft with their first solo workout of this offseason. The player: Indiana big man Cody Zeller. Zeller, a 7-foot, 240-pound big man, is considered a probable lottery pick who figures to go right in the range of Portland's No. 10 spots. One sign that the Blazers are seriously considering Zeller: Owner Paul Allen is attending the workout. Oregonian

This is how I see the 3.

Pope: Very Good outside shooter, very good defensive player, below average at attacking the rim.
Oladipo: Very good defender, very explosive to the rim, average shooter
Mclemore: Very good shooter, very explosive to the rim, average defender

If Pope has the potential to attack the rim, or possess a pull up jumper in the lane, then I would be all in for taking him. He seems to have everything else. But can he create his own shot? That seems to be the question for Shabazz. What about Pope?

Imagine someone suggesting a year ago that Zeller was in town for a workout and it barely generated any buzz.

After hosting nine potential lottery draft prospects over a 48-hour period Wednesday and Thursday, the Suns see the No. 5 overall pick as holding greater value than perhaps even they expected. "It's a good problem to have," GM Ryan McDonough said. "The issue for me might be too many good choices rather than not enough at five." The solution: Acquiring an additional selection in the first round. Arizona's Sports Page

The Magic are considering moving down in the draft and have quite a few suitors interested in trading for the No. 2 pick, according to the Orlando Sentinel

I hope either McCollum or Len falls to us. Neither is likely but a guy can hope.
