I am missing your point. We know he has bitched and has said previously he wanted to be traded. Would he bitch in Portland too? Probably.

No one said OKC turned the deal down. It was discussed by both teams and not done in time. PHX could have turned it down, OKC could have turned it down or they mutually walked away.

Just like you, I honestly don't know what the Suns would do. What I posted is what I would offer. If it doesn't work, big deal. #10 plus $7M of our cap space is too much, IMHO.

They were gonna take #12 and Perkins. Our deal is better

Our deal? You mean the non-existent one we're not going to offer?

What deal? Did the Blazers put a deal on the table?

I agree that Blazers only consider a trade for Gortat if they can shed some salary so to sign someone significant this summer

Why Phx might take on Freeland: when rebuilding you go for a lot of young players with cheap contracts. If Freeland is viewed as having potential, Phx gets two young players with potential on cheap salaries for an aging Gortat who doesn't have much more upside. After two years of rebuilding, if Freeland and the draft pick work out, you resign them or keep them as restricted FA, if they they don't work out you let them walk.

Basically two young players with potential and cheap contracts vs one more year of Gortat.

the big question I wonder is for teams rebuilding, do they see Freeland as a potential asset down the road, because 3 million a yr isn't bad to fill a roster spot.

I doubt they seem him as much of an asset. In reality, it could be they don't have great asset acquisition offers for Gortat, and the ability to be able to "potentially" snag the 10th pick is worth sitting him on your bench for 2 years.

Well that is another reason Phx might do it (swallow the contract for the #10 pick). And they still might be able to use Freeland as asset in his last year as an expiring contract in some trade situation.

I haven't given up on Freeland (maybe because he still has 2 more years on his contract). He seems a step slow both on offense and defense and I don't know if that is something he can overcome, but his basketball IQ seems fine and he appears determined to work hard and figure this all out. He can carve himself out a role if he can figure how how to be effective defensively and get rebounds.

    Fucking great!

    More Gortat babble.

Clamoring for an average big is a nice example at just how weak the position is today.

    P.s.

    DMC
    Asik
    Sanders
    Pipe dream: Drummond

Asik could be in play with HOU looking to clear cap for Dwightmare.

Hanson's rapid development could make Sanders more attainable. He duplicates what Sanders brings, only a lot cheaper.

These are real difference makers. Special defensive players (Asik, Sanders) or a special offensive force (DMC).

Gortat will keep this team in purgatory.

Okay the hypothetical one you shot down because you said Phoenix wouldn't take the offer. Obviously the one proposed is better than the rumored one from okc.

All you mentioned are pipe dreams. Asik is about as realistic as Howard able to make 75% of his free throws.

I don't think Asik is better than Gortat he just plays on a better team.
