<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>One rookie not necessarily looked at to score is the notoriously bad-shooting, Rajon Rondo. But over the summer, Rondo has apparently been in the gym two-and-a-half hours a day just working on shooting. ?I haven?t really changed my form,? Rondo told the Boston Globe. ?(Shots) are going in and I?m just more confident. The more I see the ball go in, the more comfortable I am.? Will that translate when the season starts? ? Celtics GM Danny Ainge in the Boston Globe on his team?s youth movement: ?There are fans that want to snap their fingers and get back to the ?80s, and there are fans more willing to be patient.?</div>2 and a half hours? that's good to hear.
In the words of Jim Carrey: "B-E-A-utiful!" This is great to hear. 2 and a half hours per day of straight shooting - that's what you call work ethic. That's the thing I LOVE about all our young guys. - Perk - Telfair - Gomes - West - Green - Rondo - Ray - Allen ^^^ All hard workers ^^^ (Big Al has had question marks around his work ethic) Hopefully Bassy is in there working on his jumper too, he needs improvement there as well. Rondo is only going to get better. If he can add even an "ok" jumper to his game, then he has a chance to be our best PG. He really does. He has everything Marcus Banks has, except he is also a true PG. That's hard to find, and given his work ethic, athleticism, and skill - no doubt Rajon Rondo is going to be a good player. Rajon isn't working to get some decent minutes, he knows the PG spot is almost wide open and he is going to give his all to take the job. Training camp should be a battle and a half between Rajon and Telfair.
Wow, if he becomes a decent shooter he is gonna be a very good NBA player. I think he is gonna have the Nets wondering if Marcus Williams was really that big of a steal by the end of the season.

I really like his game, and he's an excellent playmaker. He will also learn a lot from Jason Kidd. Williams went to the perfect situation, backing up Kidd until he gets old, then Williams will be ready to take over then. But at the same time, I read reports saying that GM's down at the Vegas Summer League were already calling Rondo the steal of the draft. If other GM's from around the league say that, you know you have something.
I hear ya. He looks like he has some major potential. But i relly dont see this guy going like 15-8 or 15-6.... I think most people think this guy will be like Chris Paul, drafted late yet the ROY. i dont think he will excel that much. I see him goin 13-7.What i do agree with is that he will be an amazing addition for the Celtics. I do think Marcus Williams will be the steal of the draft though, He is gauranted that PG at NJ for the years to come. but you would think NJ would adress their front court situation instead of their Point Gaurd one.

Chris Paul drafted late? He was picked 4th. And um, who here said anything about Rondo being anything like Chris Paul? 15-6 and 13-7.. same thing haha.
You will never understand because you are a Celtic fan. and for a ROY, and a for a guy to make the USA team first year, Paul was drafted late.sry i dont get it...do u think he will get more than 15-8???
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (RaptorFan#1 @ Sep 4 2006, 08:50 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>You will never understand because you are a Celtic fan. and for a ROY, and a for a guy to make the USA team first year, Paul was drafted late. sry i dont get it...do u think he will get more than 15-8???</div> 1. Being drafted 4th is not being drafted late. I don't think anybody on this entire board would agree with you, except maybe wolverine 30 haha jk. 2. I don't understand what? You're right, I don't understand how you can call someone being drafted 4th overall a late draft pick. But that has NOTHING to do with me being a Celtic fan. wtf? Michael Jordan was drafted 3rd.. do you consider him a "late" draft pick too? 3. Just because someone probably should have been drafted a little higher than they were doesn't mean they were a "late" pick. A late first round pick is 20-30th overall. 4th overall is nowhere close to a late pick. I still can't believe you said that. 4. Me thinking he will get 15-8? I never said that, nor do I care. I could give a damn what exactly the stat sheet says, as long as he produces and plays well. The reason I said "15-6 and 13-7.. same thing" is because of your post before. You said "i don't see him getting 15-6, i see more like 13-7" and you made it sound like that was a big difference. It's the same thing. I wouldn't get so caught up on statistical predictions, especially when he will be competing with minutes with both West and Telfair. And nobody, except you, said anything about him being like Chris Paul.. or putting up 15 and 8. You just randomly said that yourself.
Michael Jordan is aruably the best player to set foot on the court. Excuse me for saying the 4th is a late pick. When you pick a guy from spots one to three, you expect this guy to produce. Chris Paul went above and beyond that.Second, 15-8/6 and 13- 7 can be the differance from a starting position or a sixth man on some teams.

Marvin Williams was picked 2nd, he wasn't expected to produce early. Martell Webster was picked 6th, he wasn't expected to produce early either. - The Bucks wanted to build around a talented center. Bogut was a good pick at #1. - Atlanta should have taken Paul at 2, but they wanted to draft the guy with the most potential. Williams was their man, ok cool. - Utah was sold on Williams, and feared Paul's lack of size, so they took Deron. - Paul was picked right here at #4. I don't care what draft you are in, if you are a top 5 pick you are not a "late pick", no matter what stats you yet. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Second, 15-8/6 and 13- 7 can be the differance from a starting position or a sixth man on some teams.</div> - You look WAY too much into stats. - Name one PG that came off the bench to average 13 points and 7 assists per game. ???
Why do i look at STATS? becuase they give you proof if one person likes a person just becuase he is a fan, or becuase he is actually good for a team. I can disagree with you on that. 4th can be late.look at Bosh's draft:1. Lebron2. Milicic3. Anthony.4.Bosh5. Wade..7. HinrichYou see how many players were passed up b4 Wade? if you could do it again what way would u do it?? and wuld u choose Hinrich before Darko??
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (RaptorFan#1 @ Sep 4 2006, 06:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>wuld u choose Hinrich before Darko??</div>What does that have to do with anything? Anyways back to topic. I don't see Rondo having the impact Paul did, he won't get the minutes. And as far as being compared to Paul later in their careers. I think Rondo could put up similar numbers but I don't see him having the same leadership and intangibles that Paul already has.
I'm not exactly a Boston Celtic fan but I do respect what the Celts are doing in Boston. Rajon Rondo is going to be an excellent player and from what I see right now, the Boston Celtics have one of the brightest futures in the league and I can see them competing for an NBA championship in 4-6 years.
