When the NBA Finals are tied 1-1, the Game 3 winner went on to win the championship 92% of the time.

Sadly ESPN will some how credit Tim Tebow for the win.

One of the 8% was the Mavericks who lost Game three but won the series. Against Miami. So Miami knows its possible. Except Dallas was at home for Games 4 and 5. Miami isn't.

OK...... remember the laugher when Boston scored 148 points against the Lakers, were up by over 40, ended up winning by 34 and ....lost the series?

    Better?

Yes. That happened. But now what you said before. I don't get why people bring that up every time there's a blowout though. That happened once. Usually, when you get smoked, you get smoked.

Clearly, the Heat will not win in 5. Thats pretty obvious at this point. Dont be a fucktard.

I hope to hell that SA finishes them off in 5. But when a team kills you by making a record breaking amount of 3's, it doesn't impress me as much. Because you know that won't happen again. I still think Miami pulls out a win in Texas, then will end up winning game 6 too. And then it will be a very interesting game 7.

It's not like they needed those threes to win a close game. They shot 50% from 3. If they only shot 20% they still win.

On ESPN.com it said that San Antonio hasn't hosted a finals game since 1997... I know they've been champions since, so how does that work? Did I miss something?

Since you saw it on ESPN.com, do you have a link?

No joke. I just went back to retrieve it and it was updated to 2007. Either I read it wrong or someone edited it just now. It is on the game summary where the box score is located. I figured it was best to come back with this explanation than the actual link... :)

It means they don't provide bottled water and clean towels in the locker room. The Spurs are notoriously terrible hosts during the finals.

    Also from the ESPN.com recap:

A Spurs title would be a nice little round about way of thanking/screwing the Heat all these years later.

If Miami doesn't come back to win the series, would LeBron have the worst Finals winning percentage of any of the players widely considered for greatest ever honors? Series, not wins. Losing 3 out of 4 times doesn't look so hot.

I bet Jerry West would be in that discussion. I think he lost about 6 times to the Celtics. Won once against NY.

And Elgin Baylor too. Not sure he ever won.

Good call, any of the greats that faced that Celtics dynasty would have a lousy winning percentage.

Weren't there only like 8 teams total in the NBA during the Celtics 'dynasty'? Not impressed. Now there are 29 teams to wade through year after year to get to a championship.

Today in assholery, a bunch of racist tweets directed against the cute Hispanic-American boy who sang the National Anthem.

    Pathetic.

Last night was just the 2nd time in 95 games this year LeBron had fewer points than FGA. (Jan. 10, 92-90 loss in Portland, 15 pts on 6-16)

Yes, there are racist morons out there. Many of us just ignore them and live our lives, knowing that racist assholes will always be racist assholes.
