I would do that for both teams. Clips get an unbelievable duo both in their primes at the two most important positions, and LA doesn't lose value for Dwight if he chose to leave in free agency.

If they're planning on teams outside of LA, I'd put ATL higher than HOU on the list of potential destinations.

This Houston Blogger has worked out all the angles and essentially the only way they get both is if either LA team takes back Lin and Asik in sign-and-trade.

I think if I were the Clippers I would hastily do the Boston deal and settle for Kevin Garnett and Doc Rivers.

Atlanta doesn't have as much cap room as they've implied without some SERIOUS work:

True Atlanta has the money and the cap space, and Howard is from Atlanta and Cp3 is from the south....... but Howard just doesn't want to play there. Colin Cowherd just reiterated that on ESPN radio. For what ever reason.

Houston is the front runner if he leaves LA. Maybe NJ if the Lakers would take a trade and Howard would take a cut in pay.

Howard strikes me as the kind of guy that doesn't want the pressure of playing at home.

Does Howard know Jason Kidd? I thought Howard was buds with Deron, but now he's texting Chris Paul? Where's the love?

You understand the point then....that it would be better to have the #10 and the cap space to get an upgrade at a position via FA, rather than just get Gortat?

I don't have a problem with Tony Allen per se, good defender but not much else, not sure he helps POR bench scoring much....Don't see McGee happening...

I wrote last year when Howard was being shopped - Clippers have no interest in trading Griffin for Dwight - nil/none/zip/zero

Portland doesn't need scoring. It need top 5-10 player in the league and defensive studs/ Minus Portland trading for or signing an all NBA type player, we need to focus on defense and nothing else

I don't think Detroit has any shot. Why would those two want to go play in shitty Detroit? That's like choosing to go play in a third world country.

Maybe because Detroit has some nice young pieces they would be able to keep in Kyle Singler/Drummond(who the article thinks would be traded for a wing)/Monroe/this years pick.

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

Sigh. Do we have to go over this again?
    1. It's not Detroit. It's Auburn Hills. Affluent suburb.
    2. Ever seen Gross Pointe Blank? There's enormous wealth and luxury in the suburbs of Detroit. (Also true in a third world country, I suppose.)
    3. For somebody as rich as an NBA player, they basically live wherever they want. You could live in LA and play in Detroit no problem.
    4. Believe it or not, Michigan is the vacation destination for most of the Midwest. It has more coastline than any state other than Alaska and it has "the most beautiful place in America" (was it Good Morning America voted it that?) in the Sleeping Bear Dunes (the largest sand dunes in the world outside of the Sahara).
    5. If you think it's all about what Young Black Men want to do, well, there're a lot of them in Detroit.

Having said that, I don't see this happening, to be frank. It's just Dwight Howard being a flake again.
