I'd happily take Eric Bledsoe off their hands, but they'll have to find some other suckers to take Jordan's bloated contract.

I think you're wrong there. I think that when Neil Olshey talks about making a trade for a big man on draft day he is saying it with Jordan in mind. I think Olshey would LOVE to make a deal for Jordan.

I think that would be a bad move all around. Jordan is a decent rebounder and can block shots but gets into foul trouble easily and can't shoot a FT to save his life add in that he is on a monster contract that he isn't close to earning and it just seems like a bad idea. I'd have a hard time justifying a 2nd rounder for Jordan because of how bad his contract is.

So basically, the idea is to use all of the cap space to absorb Jordan's contract?

So the offseason 'upgrades' are Jordan and the #10 pick?

    Nope, not gonna happen.

I don't think he is worth 11 mill a year, but is that really that bad of a contract? (2 more years)
I agree that we can do better though.

Only two more years? Thought it was three, if its only two then its as bad of a contract but still fairly horrible. I'd rather just use our draft pick on a big then trade it for Jordan.

I agree I would not give up #10 either for him.

I really don't think much of Jordan. If the Clippers really believe they can land Howard, but the Lakers won't do a sign-and-trade, then they will presumably want to unload the following:

    Jordan ($10.5M) + Butler ($8M)

Assuming nobody would offer to absorb those salaries just as they are, the Clippers will have to include Eric Bledsoe ($1.7M) and possibly also the #25 pick.

I might take THAT package (because I really think A LOT of Bledsoe), but it adds up to $20M and we only have $11M space AT MAXIMUM, if:

    Suggestions?

If I'm Olshey, I offer the following: Jordan + Bledsoe for a re-signed Elliott Williams or Nolan Smith. Tell them "take it or leave it" and expect them to leave it.

Well I would do that. I would take Jordan with our cap, and give up the 10th in the process to make that happen. He is what we need, an athletic huge rebounding shotblocker. His FT suck, and I would hope that could improve, but aside from that he would be splendid. And Meyers could have some good competition to grow with. I would say hell ya!

Ugh... DeAndre Jordan Is TERRIBLE! If that ends up as our "big move" for the summer, I'm going to be pissed! He can't shoot FT's (or anything else, for that matter), he's not a great rebounder, & he's certainly not a good defender. The only way I'd be OK with the addition of Jordan is if the price were EXTREMELY low... and Bledsoe came with him (a.k.a. not gonna happen).

Most of the players mentioned in this thread are Clippers. Olshey is partisan because he acquired most. That means he'll like them more than most GMs.

I think with hindsight everyone agrees D. Jordan's contract is a bad one. I mean, many people were saying it at the time as well, though DJhad just sort of "broken out" so a lot of people were expecting him to continue to improve. With 2 years left you could do worse and he certainly plugs a hole. Might start maturing at some point in these next couple of years like airhead big men sometimes do.

But is he better than Gortat? Seems like it would cost about the same to get either one.

I don't see the Clippers trading Jordan now with Vinny gone. They have no other center. The only way he goes is in a trade for Garnett. (or another good center)

Rumor is they are trying to get Howard from the Lakers for Griffin/Bledsoe, and Garnett from Boston for Jordan.

I know. I was just saying they won't be trading him to us just to get rid of his bad contract. If they move him then it will be for players they want more. Not a draft pick or cap space.
