Rondo and Smoove is good start for a rebuilding team.

JSmoove is a PF in a SF body. He never really matured in terms of his offense and struggles when playing in the half court. He and Rondo would be a pretty mediocre jump shooting combo.

    Rondo/ Bradley/ Green/ Smith/ Jordan

is easily a 45 + win team in the east. With a decent coach and some bench help, that can win a playoff series or two.

The only "go to" scorer is maybe Green in that bunch. I don't see them winning a series if they sneak into one of the lower seeds.

Why exactly would a cap space team take on Pierce? I can't see a team with space really wanting him at his price, he likely won't be happy because he probably wants to go play for the Clippers, and the buyout is pointless if you already have cap space, as it obviously doesn't save you any money.

The assets you'd get for taking him?

    Just throwing out a guess.

I suppose. I dunno what Boston could give out. Bradley, maybe. 16th pick. Big problem is he needs to be waived by June 30th to only pay the 5 million instead of 15. So the cap spade team wouldn't be able to look at it as just, paying 5 million for Bradley, pick, whatever. They'd actually need to want Pierce. I don't see who would. Maybe Dalas, with their cap space, to make one last push with Dirk?

Pierce needs to be waived by June 30th? Teams won't have cap space until July 1st.

Talk about a small backcourt, Bradley and Rondo. Yikes. Who is going to score? Green? Who is one of the most inconsistent players?

Defensively, they might be ok. But they'd have to win every game 68-60 pretty much.

Not sure if Memphis wants Monte, but apparently Ellis wouldn't mind going there. You never know how he will fit chemistry wise, but I think he would be a good pick up for the Grizz. They need offense badly from the sG spot and a 3 guard lineup of Ellis, TA, and Conley would be pretty versatile. They should jump on it:

Gary Woelfel: As I reported back in April, Monta Ellis planned to bolt Bucks. He has told friends he'd like to join Grizzlies Twitter

The Grizz are his hometown team and his wife is from there, plus they're pretty good and could use a good perimeter scorer.

Problem with Monta is he'd be an epic 6th man, but hes so flawed as a starter. Guys like Manu and Terry accepted being a 6th man, Monta seems unlikely to go somewhere that demanded he come off the bench.

All that, and Memphis has no money to sign him.

I wrote about this couple weeks ago, but if LAC can strike deal with BOS, nxt shoe to drop may be Bledsoe/Butler to ORL for Afflalo

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

would LAL really only take Griffin in a S&T for Howard?

I mean, if you're LAC, would you rather have:

    A) CP3/Afflalo/Pierce/Griffin/KG
    or
    B) CP3/Crawford/Pierce/KG/Howard

    B.

Pierce and KG are done in two years max.

CP3/Howard is still a great foundation.

    CP3/Afflalo, not so much.

From @WojYahooNBA: Blake Griffin is not happy, feels Clipper organization was putting his name out in S&T with Lakers.

Sounds as if the Celts/Clippers trade fell thru.

Wow, how times have changed. The guy wouldn't have to move or anything and he is offended at the idea of being a L@ker over a Clipper. I would think his agent would explain the endorsement differences between the two clubs and he would shut up.

I think the Clippers with CP3 are more appealing than the Lakers with...nothing.
