Pierce is actually 9th in the League in 4th quarter scoring. Did you hear that in like the 4th game of the season? This isnt about being clutch, it is about taking over the game. If it was just based on how clutch you were, then Melo would be the unanimous choice.Lebron can take over games with his athleticism, skills, and passing ability, and that's why he is a great takeover player.</div>To start off, Melo prove to me those are 06 season stats to be positive. If you look a little back in those "random stats" they have stats from the 04 season. Clutch and fourth quarter play are pretty much the same thing, your thinking of clutch as hitting the game winner when in fact it's how well you play in the fourth quarter as a whole. You can takeover a game for however long you want but it matters squat if you choke a game winning shot or you lose the game.

You just proved my point. Lebron is 2nd in the League in 4th quarter scoring, so how is he terrible in the fourth quarter? Thats bullsh**.

I've never seen someone single handedly own a team in an nba finals series for a whle [despite how tarnished it was].

I can't believe how many people have Bron as such a high takeover type player, especially in 4th. He is notorious for dissapearing in big game situations or close game sin 4th, and was 2-20 before he hit 2 in regular seaosn this year, then 2 in playoffs (although one was a blatant travel and other he just walked through defense for easy, uncontested layup).

He took some games over towards the end of the year and people write him down as being an amazing fourth quarter. Fact is, Chauncey Billups has been a clutch player for about 3 straight seasons. Just because LeBron got hot towards the end of his year, and I don't pick him based on the doesn't mean that I am doing it out of frustration over a series that the Pistons won.

^Kobe takes some really tough and forced shots at the end of games because his teammates never show up in that department, but he has like the 2nd most GW's in NBA history next to MJ with something like 25, and he always gives it his all to win. Just look at the first round, game 4 vs the Suns, or game 6 when he was carrying that team (eventually Suns just outscored Lakers as no one else came to help Kobe).

Ya, I know what you said about that, but half the criticism is because he passed more than he shot. To be honest, a game-winning assist is just as important as doing it yourself. Lebron had at least two or three assists on gamewinners in the regular season, and another in the playoffs.

Perfect example is DWade, look at what he did to the Mavs in the 4th quarters in the Finals. Bron most recently has started to take in this role, but even this season he had many games that were close and other team would start to pull away due to Bron's teammates missing shots....and Bron would keep passing and not trying to take over. I have seen it quite often, hell it even happenned head to head with Kobe and Melo this year on national TV. He is improving, but to put him in top 5 for taking over a game, especially near end of game, I just don't buy it yet.
