This is a great example of either the lawyers or the GMs messing up. If this deal would have been kept quiet, then there might have been a way to salvage it. But, with it out in the public, I can't see any way to complete it without everyone knowing it was linked. The team offices should have known this early on and messed up. Now you will have an angry coach and likely four angry players.

Draft picks don't count as salary for trade purposes, so they can throw those in the deal for KG.

There is an act of faith that Rivers could bolt for elsewhere. But like I said, I'd want to talk to Rivers and have his assurance he'd sign with the Clips first.

Another @WojYahooNBA nugget: "Paul communicated to Clippers that hiring Rivers and acquiring Garnett would be essential to his re-signing."

How long after Doc & Garnett leave and Pierce gets waived before Rondo demands a trade?

Can we start calling him GM3, instead of CP3?

In a couple of years Lillard will be the Blazers GM.

Of course, that doesn't mean that they won't pursue him.

Jesus, what a bunch of prima donnas. Is this all Donald Sterling being cheap? It would be sweet if it cost the Clippers Chris Paul.

The people on both sides who keep blowing up the talks over one measly draft pick.

Just out of curiosity, [ignore the fact CP wouldn't do it], would you trade Lillard and Batum for CP3 (sign and trade) and Jordan?
