First decent trade rumble of draft week: Deng to Wiz in deal for No. 3 pick? It's been explored. @TrueHoop link: http://es.pn/18bkn3l

I would not be surprised if the Pistons traded their first-round pick. Don't get the sense of any clarity at no. 8 at the moment

I still say Len, Thompson, #19 and the additional cap space is more valuable than Aldridge. Hell we could easily sign Paul Milsap plus a damn good wing with the money we'd have.

Something to keep in mind.......Deng was one of the three players Bucher mentioned in his article, along with LaMarcus Aldridge. Maybe there are some embers (no homo) with this smoke?

Flip says there's one guy he wouldn't touch based on guys' attitude during Target Center workout visits

That would be some juicy info to know.

"Scary" would be the word I would use. Considering our history, if we trade our healthy all star PF for the #1 pick and then choose an injured center with that pick, it has disaster written all over it.

I am not saying it is completely idiotic, just that it would be scary as hell.

Why Bazz? Everything I've read or seen of him makes him out to be very coachable.

And going to the other thread, about being close to being a good playoff team, where does this get us in that regards? Needing great defenders or pure stars, we get neither in return for Aldridge.

Could be yet another smoke screen. Maybe he is floating it out there for Detroit who is rumored to be interested in drafting a similar player. (SG)

I may not be understanding your question right, but how does picking Len, Noel or Oladipo not qualify for great defender, with a chance for "pure (LMA-level) star?"

Hmm, That is a lower cost than I assumed. Thanks for the info. This definitely makes it easy decision if proposed.

Brian, I'll just agree to disagree with you. You've 100% written off any chance of LMA sticking around here when he is a free agent, but also seems like you write off anybody improving individually on the team, so you take current roster, and add meh MLE, an meh draft. So you can feel free to go 100% negative on the side you don't want. I'll say adding two injury prone bigs will set the team back as much as Oden did, and we'd have to well overpay with any cap space to get anybody here. But not anybody worthwhile, they'll be Hedo type of overpays. Then, we'll hobble in mediocrity, likely be slightly off from getting Wiggins, settle for an ok prospect, and bounce around in our same level of mediocrity with no true #1 star until we have these conversation about Lillard.

ideally the centerpiece of any deal involving our all star pf is an injured center

we have such great luck with that

Well, when LMA is neither what's it matter?

So you know for a fact that Len or #19 won't be stars?

The way I see it, we know what Aldridge is. Is is a very nice big who is a complimentary player. Just like Milsap. So we take a very slight step back at PF from Aldridge to Milsap, but also add Len, Thompson and #19.

As for Len, I personally think he will a decent center, but I'd much rather have Grandmama Jr

But you're still adding complementary players there, and setting yourself up for more mediocrity.

Am curious, going forward, which team would everyone want to have, if you had to trade rosters, with Denver, Utah, and Cleveland currently. Which you think has the best shot of building to a title team.

What an awful deal for WAS. Reminds me of when they gave up Rubio (or any other PG stud from the 09 draft) for up Foye and a washed up Mike Miller. Deng is better than either of those two, but by the time the rest of the team is ready to contribute, he sure will be washed up.
