But that is no longer possible, Bright and Cheery will have to do. Homosexual's have usurped the word to replace what previously they knew. Why is that? Now it seems Marry is on the path with Gay. Does this mean I have now been Shacked up for years? Why do Gay People need my words? Did the Tax code cause this? It is more than a little strange to me, that young men seek to enter the institution sanctified by the church that they shun. The same institution named after the term for Young women but now without the young women! What am I missing here?
Well i never had a problem with the word "Gay" being used to describe a "gay person". As for marriage... I don't really care in that regard either. I tend to not judge others because I feel I have zero room to talk. Got any "Gay Jokes?"
Gay people didn't steal your word. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semantic_change Your lack of perspective isn't my responsibility.
God forbid you want to bum a F A G in Great Britton.. are you fucking kidding me? I can say anything I want but *** is edited...
N word used to be accepted, now, not so much. As time goes on, there will always be progress, it marches forward, and that's a good thing. A while ago we got rid of the N-word, then F** and if we have to get rid of a few additional ones, no big whoop as long as we still have an expressive enough language to get across our meaning without offending, then why in the world would you want to offend. And you are not forbid from using Gay, or even the N-word, there are just adjusting social norms that mean you will be looked down upon for using such terms. That's how it should be, you have the right, but everyone else has the right to tell you fuck off!
Naw no jokes. But I alway did wonder why changing the meaning of Gay was necessary. Why not just a new word if the old was not wanted.
Because Americans aren't creative? I don't think there is a good reason, other than words take on new meaning.
Perhaps! Well now would be a damn good time to come up with another name for the institution name after the ancient term for Young Woman. Married has been in place for thousands of years. Gin up another to join the gays.
