Unless you have read alot about him you probably didn't know this.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Sophomore yearJames took over the helm of the team after Carter's graduation and averaged 27.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and four steals for SVSM en route to another state title. He was subsequently named Ohio's "Mr. Basketball"and selected to the USA Today All-USA First Team ? the first sophomore to be so honored. An avid football player in addition to basketball, James was also able to add to his resume the distinction of being First-Team All-State as a wide receiver for his high school team. However, injury concerns influenced James to concentrate solely on basketball.</div>-WikipediaAs a football player he lead the league in touchdowns and receiving yards and was ranked second in the state of Ohio nehind Clarett. Had it not been for injuries we might be saying, "LeBron scores the touchdown!"LeBron was born to play sports, he is so athletic he can probably dominate any major league sport.
I finished reading a book about him. I heard all about that. Yeah, he was a really good WR, but he realized that he would have an immediate future in basketball, so he decided to quit football.
Interesting... but I just couldn't see him going to the NFL, and I believe he obviously made the right choice of going to the NBA.I wonder how many other NBA superstars excelled at another sport in high school... I know AI was the best high school football player in Virginia his junior year.Hm, maybe I should do a little searching...
Didn't Charlie Ward win the Heisman?I could see Bron being a wide reciever, he has the perfect body and build.

I know Terrel Owens was also a really good basketball player, but I don't think good enough to make the NBA.

Not surprising at all. Most good high school athletes play more than 1 sport and with LeBron's vertical and size I could see him being a good WR in high school. I have a friend who's a good reciever and basketball player so I can definetly see it...
I can't say im suprised he was good at football. he's an athelete so he's going to be good at a lot of sports. but being behind Clarette isn't so special, I mean the guy is just a footnote in the history of College football.

I also believe LeBron was ranked fifth in the nation as a WR and was expected to go in the first round if he decided to go to the NFL.
I'm not supprised with his build. Randy Moss was a badass in High School Basketball. I bet Kobe could play WR, it seems that shooting guards and wide receivers are most alike in build and athleticism. Small forwards too.Hey, we should make a football lineup with NBA players.
why is it that like all these pro athletes can go pro in like 3 sports, yet i'm not athletic enough to play college ball? not fair.
^ He's probably way too tall for that position, most are around 6 feet tall at thge most. I can see what you're saying though, he could just power through some guys.I can see how he was good at WR, he's got the vert, the size, and I don't doubt he is a helluva catcher
Thats interesting. I can see him playing WR in the NFL. Donovan McNabb and Antoine Walker played on the same high school basketball team. Once in an interview, Walker said that if McNabb kept playing basketball, he couldve played in the NBA.
almost every nba player could of played some higher level of football, they are all sooo althletic,it was probably like, go to the NFL or NBA, hhmm. lebron probably could go pro in a lot of sports if he would of practiced it back in high school. who was that, like that guy from the twins back in the day, he was DRAFTED for the NBA, NFL, and the MLB but ended up playing baseball. i cant remember his name right now though, i think he just got inducted into the hall of fame a few years ago. he was a big guy like 6 foot something, played for the twins.
Man...it's amazing how people can p lay and fight all their lives for a sport, and then not make it in the pro level...and then you see Lebron who is incredibly good at both football and b-ball. I envy him
I envy him too. I suck at every sport. Well, truth is, I don't like a whole lot of sports. I only like to play some b-ball, most of the time vs a friend of mine. But I suck at that too!
