My short recap: 1) We drafted a guy who can shoot, run the offense, and has great character and a drive to improve. We were hoping he would fall to us and he did. 2) We traded for a guy who was a mid-first rounder in Olshey's Tier system for future 2nd rounders in '15 and '16 (not next year). By getting him in the 2nd round, it doesn't affect our cap space. 3) We took the best big available - a value pick. Again, he was a low 1st rounder in Olshey's Tier system. 4) We traded away a pick for cash. 5) We picked a Eurostash. What we're learning about Olshey: He really values shooters.
So do I. In the modern NBA, shooting, especially 3pt shooting has become so much more important than in decades past. You look at who succeeds in this league, shooting is always there.
I did in the past. Still important but the two factors that have really risen in my mind are shooting and intelligence. Poor shooters usually don't improve and dumb players never exceed expectations.
What I want to learn about Olshey: what's this tier system you keep talking about and how do you know?
I don't know if he can even comment; since he works for the blazers. He may not know shit; but voicing any opinion could be mistaken as some inside info.
DeAndre Jordan will be 25 and his best years are ahead of him. Really good rebounder, shot blocker and finisher. Only 2 years 22 mil left on his contract. His contract would end when Aldridge's ends. If it works, great, keep it going forward. If not, bail on both and start over. Let's not forget how much better playing with Aldridge can make a center look. It's no coincidence Hickson had his best years playing next to Aldridge. DeAndre starting, Leonard and another vet sharing time could be a pretty decent center rotation.

To tell you the truth, LA is a real quiet guy who keeps to himself. I can respect that, he is real cool,but I've been around him what, 6 seasons now. We barely talk. Brandon, Greg, Rudy, Bayless, Martell, Nic everybody was real cool and open with me...... but not LA. So I have no clue what he's thinking.
