The multiple threads are getting annoying. I will repeat what I said though. I can't see it happening unless we trade Matthews. We already have a lot of SG types.
I'm assuming that if this happens, Matthews gets flipped for a big man in a trade, or as part of a sign and trade.
I'm not opposed to it. He can shoot and he's athletic. Hopefully his attitude is good. If we do bring him in, I think that means Matthews is gone.
This is news. I hate trying to pile everything into one thread. Things get missed. If it's something significant like this, it deserves its own thread.
It is not news so much as it is a rumor. We are going to have a new thread for Bynum, Pekovic, Iggy, Landry (already said he wants to come here), etc?
I would love for us to have a forum vote on this. Would be nice to keep all these in 1 free agency thread. Especially until these are confirmed to be more then rumors.
Matthews can play SF too, but I don't think Mayo is much of an upgrade over Matthews. I imagine they'd have to spend most of their cap room to get him.
The reason why I don't like huge threads like that is because I have no idea if it's just some random thought when there is a new post, or actual breaking news. I would much rather have any breaking news get its own post. I don't think there should be threads for every new trade idea that someone has, but when we're talking actual news, there should be a new post.
I don't mind multiple threads on individual players, that works out well I think, and you can focus on discussion of one guy. I do, however, think that offseason rumors, Official free agency thread, and free agency 24 hours away should all be added together. Have one MAIN free agency dumping ground, and then let individual threads pop up for specific rumors about our team.
Makes it tough, because ongoing conversation in one all of a sudden gets really muddled, but all of those are basically duplicates. But, like you said, I do like individual threads about each player, because those generally die out as the rumor does, so it doesn't "clutter"
