I thought it didn't make sense for us to give them Wes, he is a starter here but they wouldn't have minutes for him. So Hickson S&T plus Leonard plus we give them a 2018 first round pick. We can’t trade away a pick for a number of years because it may go to the Bobcats.

The TRob trade won’t be finalized until July 11th anyways, so if both teams agree we can just revise the deal before that time. This isn't like the Doc Rivers fiasco where the commission will veto one trade for being dependent on another. The trade isn’t official yet, GM’s never back out of deals once they are agreed to in principle and announced because they would be blacklisted. But if both parties agree you see modifications all the time.

Thought this was interesting re: the Pelicans potentially offering a big deal to Tyreke Evans:

    "Mike Prada@MikePradaSBNabout 9 minutes ago

If preparing an offer sheet for Tyreke Evans means cutting Robin Lopez and his NG deal, I'm going to say it's a mistake."

Prada isn't saying that the Pels will cut Lopez, just surmises that they may be doing so to make a big (less likely to be matched) offer to Evans. It potentially puts another center on the market (I'm not a huge Lopez fan, but he's better than a lot of the FA options out there).

So first Leonard + 2018 pick + bag of 2nd rounders/Euros for TRob.
HOU clears up enough room and signs Dwight.
Now, we do Hickson S&T for Asik?

    Can this work?

That first one couldn't work because they need the space for Howard. But maybe we could do Leonard + Hickson for Asik

No, we can't deal anyone with JJ in a S&T.

How much cap room did Houston need us to take on for them via the T-Rob deal? Not sure what the difference is between ML's and T-Rob's salaries, but if Houston only needed us to take on, like $1.4 mil, I could see yuyuza's deal still working.

I know I mentioned that rule up top. But forgot it when I tried to put this together. Ya it doesn't seem very likely.

I don't think this is right, the Knicks just threw Quentin Richardson in as a S&T to complete the Bargnagni deal along with other players being sent from the Knicks.

I'm assuming it's being looked at as one deal, but was actually two separate deals. Admittedly, I don't know the ins-and-outs of the new CBA, but several other posters have signed you cannot trade additional players with a player being signed-and-traded away.

I would think we could just deal Lenoard, picks, Hickson S&T for Asik +Trob.
    Then Houston signs Dwight.

Maybe that wouldn't give Houston enough space so we only send Hickson & rights to Volleyball boy & two 1st round picks for Asik & Trob. That would use up all our cap space but I'd be ecstatic.

Nate McMillan replacing Brian Shaw in Indy as associate head coach. KP and Nate reunion.

    Per hoopshype.

I would really like to find a way to get Allen as a free agent. I think we need around 6 mil. I think adding allen to this group would instantly make us a top 4 in the west.

    Hilarious.

    "overlooked"

Multiple posters on this board have talked about the Blazers targeting Asik in the event that the Rockets get Dwight Howard.

    Nobody here overlooked this idea.

The "overlooked" post was using hickson in a sign & trade; which I never read. It explains it in the link.

Apparently the Lakers are bringing is TWC to offer Dwight his own TV show in their pitch.

Not sure how that is legal...

If we don't have the 6 million (or whatever needed to entice him) for Tony Allen, what about Martell Webster at a (likely) lower amount?

I hope the commishh blocks Dwight from resigning with LA because they are circumventing the salary cap. That would be awesome.

I'm down. Tony allen would definitely be a huge upgrade and definitely increase our defensive ability; but Martell has really become a good defender as well; plus he can knock down the tre. I would still consider it a A++++++ off-season.
