Haven't we had this discussion before?

I figured bigger news like this (you know, it actually matters to the Blazers) should have it's own thread so people don't have to wade through a giant thread for news.

It's a good deal and nice place for him. They needed a back pg. I wish him the best!

I'm interested in knowing the terms of the contract. If it's more than the vet minimum, then the Blazers weren't in the picture, anyhow.

Thanks for posting this here. I don't follow the other thread much (since I don't really care that much about other teams anymore.) I appreciate you posting it here.

I'll piggyback on this. I would have not known Maynor was out of the FA market, because there is just too much information in that monster thread.

Good for Maynor. That's an interesting squad that the Wiz have. Their guard rotation is set pretty well with Wall/Beal/Maynor -- and if they start sagging on Wall then you can put Maynor in. Then they draft Porter and they have Nene down low. A few more pieces and they may be able to be competitive. I really liked Porter.

    Wow. Thought he'd get better.

Confirming @MrMichaelLee story, Wizards agree 2 sign @EMaynor3. Looks like a 2-year deal for bi-annual exception, player option yr 2.

That's a good contract for the Bullets.

And as we suspected, his market value was low.

That fucking sucks. We better land a decent back up. The Wiz got him cheap.

McCollum will be better than Maynor, IMO, in the 12 minutes Lillard is on the bench.

Fuck that. One of the Blazers biggest problems last year was backup PG, so the finally got a good backup PG and they just let him go for nothing. It's not as though having 4 capable guards is some kind of excessive luxury!

Also, having Maynor would have allowed Matthews to play some SF...it would have really improved the depth of the Blazers.

I am a huge McCollum fan so please ease my mind and tell me why you think that. Did he even play any PG in college? I see no video of that occurring.

Should have kept him. Well, it's back to Ronnie Price. Or someone just like him.

Like Sinobas, I'm a little disappointed we didn't get a chance to sign Maynor for that contract. I doubt we find a better backup PG this summer. Perhaps he saw the Wizards as a better opportunity for career advancement and/or took the bird-in-hand rather than wait for the Blazers to come calling? Or maybe the Blazers flat out told him: see ya never. Which, would have been a mistake, IMO.

McCollum allows Wesley to play SF more than Maynor did, so this doesn't make sense.

Maynor wouldn't have played at all, barring an injury to either Lillard or McCollum, and we're probably going to do something else with the money and roster spot he would have taken up.

Must have been because we've watched too much Nolan Smith and Ronnie Price but...

Since when did 6.9p/4a on a 10.6 PER become good? I think he pretty much got what he deserved, and I don't think we'll really regret letting him go. CJ is going to make a lot of people forget we even had Maynor.
