So unwilling to discuss, somehow, means he's a possibility?

Am I missing something? How do you get that noah is a possibility when the tweet is saying that it's not a possibility?

Hey - I bet the Heat are unwilling to discuss a Lebron for LA trade! Should we get excited?

What's wrong with the twitter title? It says unwilling to discuss.

Noah has 2 years left on his deal, too, and no connection to Portland at all.

May as well work on trading him ASAP if that deal is made, since he wouldn't be re-signing in Portland.

Jimmy Butler is redundant in that he's a role player who won't make a mediocre team better, but can make good teams better since he has a specific role to be filled.

IMO, Replacing Noah with Aldridge is an ugprade. It makes them better. Aldridge would fit in perfectly with D Rose as a number two. What the Bulls need is talent if they are going to knock the Heat off. Aldridge helps in this regard. So for them to say that Noah is not a starting point in any trade talk for Aldridge is absolutely nuts. For the all that he brings from workman standpoint, he will never be Aldridge from a talent standpoint and what he can do.

I don't see where the Bulls benefit from that trade at all.

You say that they need "talent" if they want to knock off the Heat, but they almost did that this season without their two biggest "offensive talents," Derrick Rose and Luol Deng, who should both be healthy come next April. Hell, one of the main reasons they even had a chance was Noah's post presence, even though he was playing through injuries.

I know LaMarcus is an effective offensive threat and has always had impressive scoring numbers, has developed into a "decent" rebounder, but at the end of the day, given both player's styles of play and their value to the Bulls, I don't think I'd ever think about giving up a player like Noah for him, if I were Chicago. Noah's just a much more valuable asset because of the role he plays... dominating rebounder, First-Team defender, and more than anything, the heart and soul of a team that relied all season on hustle, energy, and effort. Yeah, he couldn't score 30 points in an open gym, but that sort of defensive intensity and those leadership intangible are hard to come by.

I don't see how Jimmy Butler is being considered just another throw-in either. I really like his potential in this league. When he started to get consistent playing time this season, he really proved to be a valuable defensive asset. Hell, the Bulls trusted him enough to play him 44 mpg in the Heat series. A 23 year old playing 44 mpg in an elimination series against the Heat...? I'd say he's more than just a throw-in...

Huh? The Heat won that series in 5 games, and had wins of 10, 23, and 37 points in doing so. The Bulls in no way almost beat the Heat this year. It was a lame series, other than Noah huffing and puffing out his chest while getting his ass kicked.

They lost in five, but three of the five games were in question in the fourth... if you want to replace "almost beat" with "played competitively," then go for it, but the point of my statement still makes sense. The Bulls were without their two best offensive threats, and Noah was playing through plantar fasciitis, yet they were still competitive with the Heat. That doesn't really seem like a team that needs an offensive "talent" next season. Maybe in this playoffs they could have, but with their team actually coming back healthy next season, that shouldn't really be a concern for them.

If you lose 3 out of 4 games by at least 10 points, it wasn't competitive. I do agree that there is no reason for the Bulls to trade Noah, though, and Portland swapping him for LMA would be a loss for the Blazers, anyhow.

    How about this:

Chicago gets Aldridge and Asik back (Thibs always loved him)
Portland gets Noah and CHA pick/rights to Mirotic
Houston gets Taj Gibson (which clear up enough cap space to give Howard the max)

(This assumes that ATL doesn't want to sign-and-trade Smith.)

Reason Bulls do it even tho they said "no" before: they get a replacement C for Noah, and it's one whom Thibs knows and loves.

(Of course, then we regret the Lopez trade...)
