Believe the Devils have agreed to terms with Ryane Clowe on five-year deal with Devils. Waiting for confirmation.

That is CRAZY. The Devs are lost on this one. 5 years to a guy who had 3 concussions last season...wow. I would guess 3.5 or so per, but we'll see on that.

Think about this. Clowe had as many concussions as goals last season, 3, and that equals 5 years and 4.85 mill per. Wow. Not much else to say.

Cant believe he will be healthy for the duration of the contract. thats a lot of money for a walking concussion syndrome candidate. Lou is getting desperate to sign guys in the dirty jersey

AMEN...I like Clowe as a player big time. But at 5 years and 4.85 per NO WAY. 3 years and 3 or so per...all in. Maybe 3.5 tops.

Seriously, you need to find a hobby 31. Your thing is getting real old man. I don't want to start the same old BS on this new board, but you don't stop bro. Enough...please.

I've said it for years. Lou is a moron now. He stopped being a good GM years ago.

The Clowe signing is the deal getting the most question marks. Everyone is like really. 5 years and 4.85 per. Wow. Mind blowing IMO. Was someone else willing to pay that. Amazing if they were.

    Clowe to the Devils

With the RFA's the Rangers need to get locked up and holdling on to Richards keeping Clowe was just not possible, considering the contract he signed w/ the Devils. I think he was the type of player needed to give the Rangers some depth. Will have to look at the FA list for next season to see who is/may be available at the end of the upcoming season. Not to get ahead of myself...

Desperate overpayment because of the loss of Clarkson. It's not something that makes you any better because of what you're swapping.

    Re: Clowe to the Devils

I would've hit the roof if the Rangers gave Clowe a deal like that. Too many years and far too much per season.

The Ryder deal helped to offset it a bit. Clowe signing is horrible. Ryder is excellent IMO

yea, but when Ryder's deal expires in a couple of years they'll still be stuck with Clowe. Yikes.

One of their biggest issues is they still haven't replaced Parise . Now they lose Clarkson to free agency. Clowe and Ryder aren't those two guys.
