Either the janitor who put the list up is wrong, or this imbalanced depth chart is right. C--2 players Lopez Leonard PF--4 players Aldridge Robinson Claver--just move him to SF Freeland SF--1 player Batum
More or less right, I believe. Although Aldridge often ends the game at C. If Robinson proves to be the rebounder/defender we hope he is, I really don't think LMA will have any problem with logging major minutes with him in the front court. It's not so much about playing next to a center as it is playing next to a guy who does the dirty work of defending the other team's best front court guy/rebounding. And Wes Matthews can play a lot of minutes at SF (he's short for the position but strong. He played SF mostly in college.) If McCollum is good enough to push Matthews out of the starting lineup, I think Wes would make a very good backup SF. It's better balanced than it looks on first blush.
Those two would be the two contracts I would like to move for a really good player. And I can see them trying to dump Freeland's regardless. But unless they are getting quality back for Wes they won't try to dump him. Between starting at SG and backing up Batum, the dude will log 32 minutes a game for us next year. He may not be great but he is pretty good.
Yeah, I'm not really sure that there's a huge demand in the league for his services. With Lillard, Batum and McCollum on our team, we need a wing who hits threes and can defend. Wes fits that bill quite nicely. Most teams want an SG with some ball handling/driving/passing skills. I think he has more value here than he does on most teams.
Damn! There were quite a few on here that were wrong about Lopez, but I think you won for being the "wrongest"!
