I've got to wonder if Gordon's going to make it through the summer though. He's been itching to get out of New Orleans since he was traded there.

I haven't really heard anything about how Gordon feels about the new roster acquisitions, but I think the team would probably be better off if they tried to get Danny Granger somehow. It just seems like Gordon never bought into the Hornets/Pelicans...

Was Payton a free agent when he left for Miami?

I know at that stage in his career, he wasn't near Dwight's level, but that's just the biggest name I could think of offhandedly.

Looks like Derek Fisher's going to try to play for the Thunder again next season (well, until they get off to a rough start, he uses his sick daughter as a pawn, and then joins the Rockets) -

If New Orleans can flip Eric Gordon for Danny Granger I think that could be a pretty good move. You'd be pretty thin at shooting guard behind Tyreke (I think Evans' best role is probably as a super-sub sixth man versus a guy who has to blend in with other players), but at least you'd have some decent size across the board.

Yeah, it really makes no sense for Indy. I was talking to some of the Pelicans TrueHoops guys when I was down in New Orleans and brought up a Gordon-Granger-Garnett/assets three way that would have made more sense, but now that KG is gone and West got resigned, there'd have to be some other third party in the mix. I still think Granger makes sense for New Orleans though.

If Gordon is healthy, that's a great deal for Indiana, too. They went to 7 games in the ECF w/out Granger, and without a true offensive threat in their backcourt. Start Gordon, have Stephenson off the bench, and that team may be the favorite in the East. I hate Gordon's overall game, by the way, but for a team that can't score consistently like the Pacers, he'd be a great fit alongside Hill and George. With West and Hibbert, that's an NBA title contender, with Stephenson being a defensive presence as a 6th man, and Hansborough being a banger off of the bench.

Gordon would probably play up to his potential being back in his hometown, but don't you get the vibe that Indiana is trying to develop Paul George into more than just a "first option on a good team?"

Eric Gordon's a guy that needs 15-18 shots per game to be effective, and that would definitely cut into their plans with developing George.

So much for Asik to New Orleans -

"Have it on strong authority Pelicans not only haven't talked to Rockets about Asik sign-and-trade but likewise have no interest in him"

    - Marc Stein via twitter

Potential new suitors...? Atlanta talks still alive...?

Sad but true, yet that's where all the news tends to break these days. There are so many wannabe Peter Vecseys that want to be the first to break news, that a lot of speculation gets reported as fact.

I couldn't believe it when I read that he was refusing to work out for teams interested in him. Guy is as entitled as they get and I hope he is in for a RUDE awakening.

Likewise, but isn't Dallas interested in him? They still have cap-room, right?

Sidenote, how fucking stupid does Dallas look? Blew up their championship team for a shot at Paul and Howard. Instead they end up with Jose Calderón as a consolation prize.

Grass isn't always greener on the other side folks.
