Next year they will have CAP space for FA

    If the Rangers are doing well next season, as we all expect they will be, I seriously doubt they deal Girardi mid-season unless it was a hockey trade that got them back better value. And even then I doubt they would deal a main player on the team as we gear up for the playoffs.

    If they decided to let Girardi go and therefore decided to deal him, they would do it in the summer, not mid-season IMO.

    My guess is for the first time McIlrath has a chance to come up in season. Up until this season I never thought it would happen. This season I would expect him to be brought up at some point. They already pretty much said he will start in the AHL.

    Sounds like they want to make sure McIlraths skating is up to standards, I think they said he may have started with Barb Underhill but Im not positive. I could see him coming up in Feb on.

    His skating is fine for a guy that size. If they can make it better so be it.
