    From Ira Winderhorn, NBC Sports:

"If you haven't noticed, Greg Oden didn't even get a whiff during free agency, not even offered the ride-along program Eddy Curry got last season with the Heat, one that came complete with glossy championship ring.

Where there previously had been ample relief options with injured players, that no longer is the case. They may not play, but you still have to pay, luxury tax included. And the list of remaining eligible amnesty players is miniscule, that escape hatch also effectively closed."

'No more Sam Bowie like mistakes, no more David Kahn's signing injured Brandon Roys'

    Interesting...

The whole Greg Oden return thing is bizarre to me. What kind of injury takes 4 years to heal? He must have been as healed as he's ever going to be 3 years ago. Seems like he's just trying to sucker a team out of another million dollars.

I wonder what "relief options" were available last year that aren't available this year, with the exception of less amnesties?

I'm sure he'll latch on with somebody for the veteran's minimum.

I find it slightly funny in that "free agency" hasn't actually happened yet, and won't for a few more days.

GO could have certainly handled things better, but I don't blame him for having a body that has betrayed him so. Rehab is so depressing and he had one rehab after another after another after another.

As long as he doesn't sign with the L*kers or crush us in the playoffs, I wish him well. I prefer to remember him as the kid in a man's body with that great sense of humor. I haven't really seen him smile in years.

A little early for this, yes?

    He'll end up somewhere.

Hopefully to the Bucks. I'm sure he'd love that town.

Maybe this is all part of Sterns great scheme? Oden was really never injured, NEVER! Stern knew he was going to be the greatest C of all time, so he made a deal with Paul Allen to fake those injuries, while he secretly works out with Olajuwan, polishing his game. Now, after the Howard smokescreen in LA, the "desperate" Lakers sign the "bust" Oden to a vet min contract. Oden destroys everyone at a 30pts/15reps/4blks per game clip, guiding LA to 3 straight titles before Kobe finally retires.

    Its all so clear now.....:MARIS61:
