Chicago Bulls contacted Nate Robinson and offered a minimum contract. He's searching for a more lucrative multi-year deal after his big season. Source: Alex Kennedy
How has Nate Robinson not proved his worth over the years enough to get better than a veterans minimum? Kyle Korver just signed a $24 mill contract over four years, yet Nate is having to deal with minimum offers? That just doesn't seem right... BTW - I love it how Alex Kennedy, former s2 poster, is breaking all these free agency stories. We set him up on his first interview job back in the day, and now he's hitting the big time... I just have to point that out any time I see a thread started with one of his reports...
Yes Voodoo he has come a long way. Some posters on other forums, bulls posters, put him down even last season, but especially for the last two years plus, he has been spot on with his comments!
It's height discrimination, that's what it is, and the NBA should be required to account for its actions.
I always thought the FA demand for Nate this offseason was ambiguous. He had a great year for us, but it was very similar to the year he had in GS. He's been in the league for 8 years and hasn't changed his complexion as a player. I actually think it's 50/50 if he resigns with us this year. The biggest part will be the money/years he gets, followed by his role. Given his age and short stature, I think there's a chance he'll go to a lesser team that offers him the minimum if it means he can showcase himself. I'd love to have him back as our fourth guard. Most games the combination of Rose/Butler/Kirk will make him unnecessary, but there will inevitably be moments when we'll need an additional ball handler/scorer and you can't get cheaper volume scoring than lil' Nate.
