6 years at 28M, so 4.7M cap hit, I like it.....

Glad to see you made it vro.

I like it alot as well. I saw a few predictions which had his hit coming in at over 5. Feel good about the 6 years as well, didn't want to have to re-up him again in 3 or 4.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting 6 years either. That gets us two years of his UFA years at only 4.7M cap hit. Great deal for us...

Good deal, but not as cheap as i had hoped (thought he'd get =/< $4M). With Stepan and Hags to go, we may go over $10M on the 3 of them which only lowers our cap room.

I will stick to my 11 mill or so number between Hags, McD, Stepan, and MZA. Adding in Falk, and the 4.7 cap hit for McD, which is a great deal for us BTW, I think we are tapped. That will be about 12 mill all in, which is about what we have open prior to the McD deal.

So that is all unless we make a trade.

I am sure Powe and Asham will be down. And either Boyle or Pyatt will be off the cap. So that will put us right around the # when the RFA's are signed.

That's a good #, especially if he's at an all-star level in another 2 years.

They can go over but then just need to be within the cap once the season begins. I think they're in good position to do what they have to do. Then the following season Richards is going to get bought out and the cap most likely goes up. They will need to sign Hank to a long term deal and should be a player in the free agent market. I just want reasonable signings moving forward.

Maybe Stepan gets something like 5/18 and Hagelin 4/10?

if McD got $4.5M+ i would think Stepan's agent is looking at something similar. Hags is not as good as Stepan/McD so his salary should be lower.

Yeah Troj, I dont think there's any way we get Step for 5 years with a hit under 4 mil. Id be fine anywhere between 4.2 and 4.6.

That's fair, what's an extra $.5m I guess if it gets it done. Maybe 5/22ish.

5/22 is what I'm hoping for as well. And Hags will hopefully take 4/8

I would figure low 4's for Stepan. Around 2 or so for Hags. Makes sense.

I'm wondering if they even bother with MZA now, he's sort of a spare need, especially with Kristo/Fast/Lindberg around. Caught in the cap/roster space crunch.

Possible they let MZA go. I think it comes down to how much he wants, and what we have left.

    I am fine either way.

Great deal for big mac. I especially like the 6 yr contract length. I think step will get more per the more years he signs for. Hags to me is in the 2 mill range. This also makes clowe deal for 4.85 totally laughable by the desperate devils.

Step will get 4.2-4.7 if he signs for 4-5 years. Hags is going to get a 'bridge deal' worth about 1.5-2.0M

a little more than what i would have liked, but also did not expect 6 year contract at that amount. evens itself out i suppose...now the problem is Step..how does he not get the same deal or better that Clowe received?

Because Clowe was a UFA and Stepan is an RFA. Pretty straight forward.

Stepan will be in the low 4's IMO. If he gets more than 4.5 I would be very surprised unless the length is 6, 7, 8 years long.
