Some perspective. (Sets the record straight: Qyntel Woods was never a Summer League MVP - he made All Rocky Mountain Revue team the year that Lonny Baxter was MVP)

Interesting... Looks like Dame and CJ are already REALLY close. Unfortunate placement of his hand.

Because that opens more room for Aldridge to be playing on the block, and for Lillard to be driving the lane.

I recall a guy by the name of Bill Laimbeer being extremely effective from the three point line.

Of course, Bill was an extremely intelligent player and knew when to shoot them.

    Re: SL thread

Disagree. I'd love LMA to shoot 3's. Last year he shot 249 "Outlaws" (jump shots from 19-22 feet). If he took one step back and shot a 3 instead of an 19-footer, he could shoot 29% on them and still be more efficient than he was last year, which was the 2nd-best shooting of his career on jumpers.

    Re: SL thread

I would much rather punish players down low; where he is shooting them at a 63% skid. I think we have plenty of shooters to net that +1 outside shot.

I think he needs to live 10ft and in from the basket. Occasional three is fine. Living at the three not.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love it if LaMonster came to play every day. But that's not going to happen. He doesn't want it to, and no one in the org has the juice to force him to. So if he's going to shoot 750 jumpers from outside the paint (250 of them from >19 feet), then I'd rather he take a step back and get a few more points.

Re: The Official 2013 Las Vegas Summer League Thread........

Portland doesn't play until Saturday, and some teams haven't even announced their rosters yet.

Not to mention, we've got the Orlando Summer League in mid-swing, and Team USA is killing it at the World University Games (tune in tomorrow at 4 pm PST on ESPNU if you want to see them fuck up Sweden btw).

I'm interested to see how the new tournament format in Vegas will workout though. I thought it was pretty stupid at first, but I get it now... it's an opportunity to have these guys play in a truly competitive environment for a change, instead of playing pop-a-shot like they did last year. Hopefully, we'll be able to see how these guys can actually fit into a team concept. At least, that's the plan... we'll see how it plays out in reality.

I will be looking at how CJ handles the ball as his college turnover rate was pretty high. With it being summer league it will be hard to evaluate T Rob.
