I'm not quite sure why, but whenever I see refuse on sidewalks, sides of roads, malls.....wherever....I have to pick it up and find a trash container to dispose of it in. I hate litter! :MARIS61: What are some of the good/kinder things you do to be helpful and/or make this world a better place in which to live....just because?
Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.
I often wipe down the counters after washing my hands in public restrooms. I don't know why, but for some reason it just bothers me when water is splashed all over the counter.
I do it because I don't like the looks of trash strewn on the streets, etc.. I'm also curious as to what others do. There's nothing quite like encouraging each other to become better stewards of the planet.
Being a brute, I frequently check and change the water jugs at work even though I almost never use them. All sorts of stuff like that, changing CO2 tanks, opening containers, I make sure lids are loose enough for anyone to use the chemicals at work. I always stop to give directions and offer to take pictures for people whenever a picture is being taken but it looks like the picture taker is being left out. I talk to the homeless, and listen.
Dude, these are all really great things! We may have our differences, but looking out after others' needs appears to be something you strive for. Kudos! Heh, made me remember that I like to collect free chalupa coupons (many just give them away to others following the games), stick them in my glovebox, then hand them out to the folks with the signs at stoplights. Not that they'll ever use them, mind you!
I remember once being at a gathering with Sly. While we were conversing, one of his former bosses came up to us and blurted out, "That Sly character, he's good for nothing!!" I responded, "Not so fast, my friend. He can always be used as a bad example."
Damn, Sly, almost correct.. I think the intent was that we were not to do things just for show, rather from the heart could it be that we can share in relative anomynity ideas that ar easy to do for others?
