The bigger question is why does anyone care what some dipshit writer for the Columbian has to say?

I'd consider Hibbert close to that.

It was reported that he balked at being traded to OKC which explains why OKC didn't try to pair the two themselves when Dwight was on the way out of Orlando and they knew they had to trade Harden. Don't think PDX would have been any different.

Portland is twice the size of OKC. The Thunder are on another level when it comes to small markets.

But I do agree -- Dwight will never play for a team above the sun-belt regardless of market size.

Bad management? What major personnel moves did the Blazers get wrong?

These are the criticisms that the doom and gloomers made to get Bob Whitsitt fired. That ended our days of getting big name players.

Jaynes and the rest of the media complained when Whitsitt spent a lot, spending which made us average over .600 in Whitsitt's last 7 years. Now they whine about what they caused, a decade of rebuilding. They'll always find a way to be negative.

I'm looking forward to a 1st round exit and a year wasted this season.

Have you ever met or talked to Bob Whitsett? He used to have a website up. He'd probably enjoying hearing that you haven't forgot him. If you could ever get him to do a Q & A I'd go.

You already said you didn't follow the team last season. Why should anybody give a rat's ass about your view on this season?

It's funny, all I remember about you is that you like to attack other people and stir shit up, and are wrong on just about everything you post. Nice reputation.

I don't remember you at all, but whatever. Isn't it fair to say that your posts since coming back have been to "stir shit up"?

    Easy....

1.) give Roy a huge contract, even after knowing the knees are bad

    2.) picking oden

3.) getting martell Webster instead of d will or cp3

    4.) trading miller for Felton

Do I need to go on?

Re: Bitter Truth: "Portland will never, ever, ever be able to sign a marquee free age

    1. Absolutely no one questioned this move when it happened. What are you accusing them of, giving out free money to a guy they knew would fall apart? Sure...

    2. Again, it's ridiculous to call this a bad move, nobody was questioning the Oden pick at the time. How is that a failure of decision making?

    3. LOL ok, let's say we drafted either DWill or CP3. Roy and Aldridge never happens, Oden pick never happens...where would the team be right now?
How did that work out for Utah and New Orleans?

    4. So we traded an aging PG who is now worthless for a scrub PG who is also basically worthless...big deal

#3 is the only bad decision in that list, and it was Paul Allen who made it. Management wanted CP3.

Please go on though, I can keep busting you up all night..

I can think of Miami building a championship thru free agency, but most championships are won thru the drafts and trade.

The year Jason Kidd flirted with San Antonio, they ended up with Rasho Nesterovic and Robert Horry. Not being able to land a major free agent is not the kiss of death.

Re: Bitter Truth: "Portland will never, ever, ever be able to sign a marquee free age

I'm surprised how often Blazers fans on s2 will shit on the Oden pick.

It's one thing to accept that injuries ruined an otherwise dominant career, but who would disagree with the pick, placing themselves back in 2007?

With the Big 10 being my conference, I watched pretty much every game Oden played that season for Ohio State, and he looked every bit as dominant as Shaq. With the way the game is played today, Oden could have led ya'll to multiple titles, easily. I know it's a sore subject, but damn, he was not only a great post player... he was a dominant post player.

Yao Ming was a productive basketball player and a good marketing tool for the Rockets, but the only player drafted in the last decade that I think could rival what Greg Oden could do in the post is Dwight Howard.

He got hurt... that sucks, but that was not a bad pick. If Seattle had the #1 pick, they would have taken Oden as well.
