I would say Kobe, LeBron, Allen Iverson, maybe mcgrady, maybe shaq.a superstar, sadly enough, is really just the most popular players. that's why i don't consider guys like paul pierce or tim duncan superstars. they aren't flashy enough.

SunnyD I think you have a pretty solid list there, and I don't believe Melo or Vince are proven enough to be 'superstars' but are definitely up there

I dont see how anybody can leave Paul Pierce off the list, He puts up great all around numbers, He is clutch, He plays semi solid defense.

He's not a superstar for that exact reason. He's the most underrated star in the league. bc of the fact that no one outside of boston gives him any recognition, he isn't a superstar, sadly enough.

I don't see how Melo is an all-star. He's marketable and popular but I don't think of him as a good enough player yet to be considered a superstar. Maybe soon though.

Ray Allen ??? If hew played in LA or Miami he'd be a no brainer, But because he's always played in small market teams he gets over looked!

I agree with the original list, but Dogma is right, it's a popularity contest. Clangus also makes a great point, Ray Allen IS a superstar, he just doesn't get the exposure.

Good passer. Clutch. Pierce's defense has slipped over the last couple of years but I think he's defense is still better then Ray. Ray's a poor rebounder for his size.Pierce can do many more things on a basketball court then Ray. That's why I'd take Piece over ray.

He lead that supporting cast above to the Eastern Conference Finals, and took the series to 6 games. Pierce has done plenty, there is no reason why people should have Arenas on this list and not Paul Pierce. Makes no sense to me.Pierce needs help. As much as I absolutely love Paul Pierce, he shouldn't be involved in a youth movement at age 28. Give him a decent supporting cast and he CAN lead a championship team. Paul does everything on the court offensively, can take over a game, very clutch, and plays solid defense (he actually tries on defense, unlike half the "stars" of today).Put it this way, if Pierce was throwing down dunks like Vince Carter everyone would call him a top 3 wing in the NBA. That's the sad reality.

Kobe BryantDWadeLeBron JamesTim DuncanKevin GarnettChauncey BillupsVince Carter & JKidd respectivelySteve NashDirk NowitzkiPaul Pierce (underrated)Ray Allen (underrated)There are more, but these guys are the noticeable ones. I would have put Shaq, but he has fallen off immensely. He is getting too old. Age has caught up with the big fella. Also:I would have put Carmelo Anthony, but he hasn't proven his worth yet. Okay, he was on a tear in the FIBA games, but that's not NBA. We'll see him in the NBA first, okay? Then we'll ponder over whether or not the man is a Superstar.

He is entering his 4th year and last year he scored 26 ppg. He was great last year. The only knock is that he hasn't gotten the job done in the playoffs, but you didn't mention that. You made it sound like he hasn't proven anything in the NBA yet, when he has.
