I think he would be useful, but were we really a good defensive team then? I don't know if he's to blame though, just curious.

Joel is from Minnesota. To paraphrase Dennis Hopper, "Coors Light? Fuck that shit! Pabst Blue Ribbon!"

We don't care how he plays, we care what he imparts. Just for practice, he'd be a huge help for Leonard.

One of my favorite Joel photos:

Joel can't really teach that much, except how to keep your body upright and block without fouling. But, his intensity would do Leonard a lot of good.

And I would pay money to see Joel get Leonard in the boxing ring.

I think MyLe would box well.

I agree, but Joel has an extra gear the Leonard doesn't yet have.

Also, recall that Joel used to do MMA training. He would knock MyLe out.

Fuck'n A Right! I'd take Joel back in a heartbeat as a coach or as a player. Either way he'd sit behind the bench in a suit...

for the vet minimum this would be one of the smartest moves of the offseason to snag joel. the wisdom he could pass to robin and myers would be huge IMO. plus, it would seriously energize the fan base(notlike we really need it) but I think people would be really excited to have him back. and if myers or robin gets hurt joel can probably still give you 10 maybe 15 minutes a game depending on how in shape he is

I don't doubt that. I am simply stating MyLe would be a decent boxer.

They talked it up a lot, but when they showed clips of his MMA training it was the saddest thing I've ever seen.

Players ability is predicated on different mixes of athleticism, energy, mental toughness, ability to think, repetition, and even creativity. A big man coach doesnt need the athleticism or creativity, he needs those other characteristics, which Joel has in spades.
