Wow, if the Blazers drafted CJ to be a starter someday with Lillard they might have been better off just going after Ellis instead. Anyway both Ellis and CJ are 6-3. If your going to tell me I'm crazy because CJ isn't the ball hog Ellis might be just give it a couple years. Just saying if your going to go with two 6"3 guards Ellis and Lillard would have been dynamite together.

I'm happy with CJ. I'm just saying if your ready to win now I would have gone for Ellis if your planing to someday start both of them. Especially with that contract Ellis signed with the Mavs.

Ellis would have eaten almost all our cap space with a 3 yr 30 mil deal. Don't get me wrong though. I love the idea of Ellis and Lillard.

Big fucking deal. He's always been a high volume, low efficiency, undersized two guard with a selfish streak. Oh nevermind, I forgot about all of the deep playoff runs he lead the Dubs and Bucks to.

There are reason some teams don't bring guys back. Similar reason why we didn't bring Hickson back even though he put up big numbers (compared to minutes).

It's not a bad idea...on paper. The big difference is in attitude. By all accounts, McCollum will be a great locker room guy. Ellis, not so much. Teams jettison him every few years for a reason.

You know what I don't understand? Why, if you're taking the name "BigGameGreg" and altering it to honor Lillard, would you actually use "Damian" instead of the shorter "Dame", which is not only his nickname, but also rhymes with "game", which immediately precedes "Damian" in the screen name. Doesn't "BigGameDame" have a much better ring to it than "BigGameDamian"?

Ellis would be great as a sixth man but like Mayo he thinks he is the best player on his team. Gosh now that Dallas team is a disaster I can't believe this is the end result of letting a championship winner break up.

It would've been fun to add Ellis but then we couldn't have got Lopez/TRob/Wright. Who would our starting center be? I like what we got now much more.

How do you know McCollum will be a great locker room guy? He hasn't even played a game of Summer league ball yet.

Oh fuck no. Keep that clueless chucker away from my team. I'm glad Dallas signed him. They keep getting older and worse with every move they make. That improves our chances to make the playoffs.

I thought the goal was to improve our outside shooting. Do you really want a guy who shoots 3s almost as bad as Andre Miller jacking up over 300 3-pointers (4.0 3FGA/game). At least Dre knew he was a bad 3-point shooter and always limited his 3FGA to less than 1 per game. Ellis shoots from deep almost as bad as Miller (.287 3FG%), but attempts over 5 times as many 3s.

There's a reason teams can't wait to see Ellis move on. He's not nearly as good as he thinks he is, and because if this, makes his team worse. He's a great leading scorer on a bad team, but he'll never be a starter on a good team. Look how much better Golden State got after they traded him. He's made the playoffs twice, but absolutely sucked both times (career playoff PER = 10.0, career playoff WS/48 = -0.044: note the negative sign). He's a highly overrated chucker who thinks he's much better than he really. He would be a horrible role model for our younger players. Let Dallas have him.

And, BigGameDame would be an homage to Big Game James Worthy, who always stepped up his game in the post season (career regular season 17.6ppg, career playoffs 21.1ppg).

So signing Ellis for $10m/year means that they are reading to win now?

Well they would\do have a nice group of players to win with. I'm sick of always saying the Blazers are in a rebuilding phase. I'm out to say that if the Blazers do not make the playoffs this year Olshey is fired.

Well, that wouldn't be a surprise, considering Paul Allen fired the last GM who made the playoffs three years in a row, and then his replacement.
