Yeah, a lot of people almost hurt themselves knee-jerking excuses for the character flaws of pro athletes and Curry was a good example of this. The guy was just such a self-inflicted waste of time.

Always felt sorry for Eddy. He struck me as a good guy who just didn't have the support system and judgment/ethic/intelligence needed to make it in the league.

I agree with whoever said that staying in Chicago where his social network was still in place may have been the worst thing that ever happened to him.

His affairs off the court always made my heart go out to him. Poor guy didn't seem to know what he was getting into.

He was a high school kid, turned cornerstone of the franchise, turned team leading scorer, turned "we don't want you anymore."

One question for ya, Rosenthal. Are you this empathetic to everyone or just oversized folk?

I mean, at least refrigerator perry won a superbowl (and scored a touchdown instead of sweetness, which still burns my butt) before he crashed and burned.

I'm not sure I have a point. But if you want to feel sorry for Eddy, that's one way to do it.

    Everyone :)

In all seriousness, Eddy struck me as a dolt with crappy friends and ended up suffering mightily for it.
