If he's running hard he has himself an easy triple. I commend Kay for finally calling him out on it.

I was just about to create a thread on this myself. I mean can you imagine what managers like Billy Martin, Sparky Anderson or Earl Weaver would have done to this lazy bastard? I still remember when Martin pulled HOFer Reggie Jackson off the field for not hustling.

Nonsense like you see these days wouldn't of been tolerated back then.

I know Cano's BS would not have been tolerated. He irritates the bejeevers out of me. Just the way he smiles after he has done something good or for that matter, stoopid; He's not exactly your quintessential base stealer but he's not exactly slow and had he been a hustler he could have had a lot more total bases in his career. What a slacker he is. It wouldn't bother me at all if we traded him as long as we get something good in return. Trouble is...... only certain managers would want him on their clubs b/c of his antics and lack of hustle.

Mushnick? Is he a member of the LollyPop Guild?

Cano is under the impression that every time he hits an infield grounder that no one has EVER bobbled a ball or made a wild throw to first, so why run hard. That's why whenever I see 39 yr olds like Jeter or Ichiro run there butts off going to first I wonder if Cano was paying attention.

Since the first time I saw Cano play I thought this same stuff to myself. And there have been a few times where if he just hustled a bit he would have been safe! He never ever seems to hustle unless he is in the field. And in the field he just makes it look stupid easy every damn time! He is gifted for sure!

If by chance he ends up in a place like Baltimore or Detroit. I can see Showalter & Leland ripping him a new asshole for skipping to 1st base. At least I would hope so.
