Awesome, I'd love to try that one day. Congrats. What did you like riding the most, the Lamborghini or your wife?

How banked are the turns at that track? 135 kicks ass on a 1.2 mile oval. Were you pushing Gs into the banked corners?

...how long was the longest straight-a-way?! I've drove a Hyundai Elantra a decade ago that got up to 135 mph on the way back to LA from Vegas :dunno:

Okay I just watched the video; which has the mph, front view of car, video of me, GPS tracking of where I was on the track and fastest time.

My fastest lap time was 57:11 and my fastest speed was 115. I don't know where the guy said I was going 130. I didn't even come close.

I did take the sharp corners at 60 mph. Gs were still sick!

The fastest I've ever been was a bit over 140 mph on River Rd in New Orleans, straight-way in a 2013 Mustang GT was my tops, drunk (don't judge-would never do it again do it again)... it wasn't until the next day I realized how lucky I was to be alive.

Taking a car like mags is talking about on a loop is a whole 'nother experience though. Your turns just appear out of nowhere when you're going 100+ mph in cars with that kinda torque.

It takes some balls to hit too much over 100+ on the track that mags is describing, with just a 1/3 mile straight away.

Sounds like a hell of a time...

Yeah when I was on that 1/3 mile; it looked so fucking scary going 100+ to a 45 corner. You just trust the car will break fast enough to get you around the bend.

It's cool because there was this step system they trained us to do. Gun to just before the turn. Brake hard, down shift, left off the brake and point the car to the apex of the turn. The moment you hit that apex; you gun it out.

These cars are the shit. No wonder why they are soooo expensive

I remember being the passenger in a Mustang once, back in the early 90s, driving in the Gorge. My brother got tired of some guy in a Honda tailgating us. He was pissed because it was some POS Honda, and the guy thought he was cool or something. So just as my brother was getting irritated, the car in front of us pulled over and we were off.

The speedometers on those things only go up to 85, but the thing was pegged. We were easily doing 100+.

After what seemed to be forever (but was probably just 30 seconds), a guy well ahead of us pulled his car over into the fast lane and my brother had to slow down. And finally we got back to normal speed and came up to an overpass, just as a sheriff was pulling onto to the highway.

My brother was lucky the guy in front of us pulled over when he did, or he would've gotten a hefty ticket. On the bright side, never saw that twerp in the Honda again.

Now that we're both MUCH older, (I must've been 19?) neither of us are willing to do something stupid like that again. Of course, having a family changes people.

The Lamborghini super was the best ride because it had a ton of power and the all wheel drive seemed more natural to control. The down side was it was so hard to get into. The seating is really uncomfortable because the seats weren't adjustable and I hit my head getting in and out. I don't think I could drive long distances in it.

The R8 was probably the best overall experience for me. It was really comfortable to drive and seemed like the power combined with comfort was good. It was just really easy to drive.

The Ferrari F430 scuderia had the best sound. The power seemed really good; but the loudness made it feel like you were going much faster than you really were. It was the touchiest drive and the rear wheel drive made it a little harder to have control around corners. It was the hardest to control for me.

My nephew drove the Mercedes SLS AMG and said it was the funniest drive for him. He is 6'2" and said it was the most comfortable car. He said it had the best handling for him.

He drove the SLS, Nissan GTR and the same Lamborghini superleggra. He said the Nissan GTR was the worst drive. Both of us got our best time on the Lamborghini superleggra.

I drove 165 in my Mercedes E63 on the freeway and it drove really smooth. I only did it once. If you have a couple mile straight away; anything with +500 horse can get you there. The rest is the automaker and how they build the vehicle. I suspect the S63 (537 HP) would probably get there as well, but I don't want to open it up.

    Sounds awesome.

The same outfit does this exotic driving experience out in Orlando. I'm going to do it when we're at Disney World in October. I booked the Audi R8. I'm glad to hear you liked that car.

The r8 was really nice. They put effort in comfort as well as performance. The others were mainly "performance" and little effort to comfort.
