He was one of the few that gave Derrick problems as a rookie. Not since, obviously.

Augustin does not suck. For the vet minimum, he's good value.

    No. He's not a D-Leaguer.

Did the Bulls extend an offer to Radmanovic?

Um, yours is the first reference of Ramanovic I've read this offseason.

If Forman re-signs Radmanovich, I believe that this would be irrefutable evidence that Forman does indeed hate Thibodeau.

I don't expect this to happen.

Radman is proof it's not the best big man for the money.

I know that you're criticizing Bulls management somehow, but for the benefit of those who are new to your view of Bulls management, could you please say what you actually mean. Thanks.

Well, you said best big man at vet minimum gets hired. I say Radman couldn't have been the best big man available, so they have some other criteria.

    Hmm. Good point.

From an objective view, I might have said that they were hoping to combine tall/big with shooting and kill two birds with one stone. If this was what the Bulls FO had in mind, plenty of birds died, but the Vlad experiment just never quite came together. Oh hell, no matter what the Bulls FO was thinking, the signing of Radmanovic was an epic fail. If Radmanovic has any redeeming basketball value, his having spent a year on the Bulls bench didn't enlighten me. He sucks.

This is where I'm pulling for the law of averages. Radmanovic was such an awful choice that I figure they're due to pick a good big this season (of course, after the epic win of Robinson, they're due to pick a completely dud guard).

Daequan Cook and his 4.0 PER surpassed the $4M Kirk Hinrich for futility on the court.

    It wasn't just Radman.

I have no idea what the bulls were thinking, other than "let's give Thibs shit and reap the rewards of a shitty record."

You mean, they meant to tank?

I think they mean to tank this year, too.

The idea that they were trying to deal for Ellis in a S&T was somewhat encouraging. I think for show, though.

That tank stuff is nonsense, but whatever.

Radmanovich and Cook were different situations. Radmanovich was the first free agent the Bulls signed last year. He was specifically targeted. Cook was signed in January after the Rockets waived him. As a mid-season addition, Cook's about what you'd expect. On the other hand, Radmanovich was a definite head-scratcher.

Let's see, we had a team that wasn't quite good enough to get past the heat. That team had Asik, Korver, Brewer, and Watson on the bench. We've replaced those guys with Nazr, Dunleavy, Butler, and Hinrich. I'd call that a significant downgrade at 3 of the 4 spots.

Id say at 1 of the 4 spots. Which sounds like an upgrade! Thanks for brightening my day!

You know, DJ has played Derrick Rose tough for a number of seasons. I always liked Augustin, and have thought that he might be a star if he was born into a different NBA era.

But I'd be willing to wager my left nut that Foreman isn't considering bringing in another point guard. Marquis Teague looked pretty damn special in his first summer league game. He's still raw as all get up, and summer league is summer league, but I'd very surprised if Foreman gave Thibodeau an excuse not to give him consistent minutes.

    Really?

For this, you earn your name, "Good Hope."

I think Jimmy's the only upgrade.

Not only was CJ able to play when called upon, his PER was much better than Hinrich's.

    Nazr over Omer? Lol?

And Korver is absolutely the very best at something - 3pt shooting.

Of course, how Dunleavy performs remains to be seen, but I think he better suits the Bulls, and I expect him to provide a far stronger support at SG and SF than Korver was able to do.

    We agree on Butler.

Kirk. Well, I suppose that's where I earn my name, but I think he ran the team far better than CJ, and he steps up in times of trial. People explain away the wins, when he played, and I get the reasoning. But think the guy helps, and he will be a great backup to Rose and occasionally playing alongside him.

Not only so, but Teague seems ready to step up and be a regular contributor.

I would like to see someone who could help make up the difference between Nazr and Omer. Still, I think Taj will do significantly better this year, for a number of reasons, and justify our choosing him over Omer.

    Go Bulls!

Kirk didn't play against the really tough teams.

And CJ led us to the best record in the league. It's hard to argue with that. Though Rose did play like half the season.
