There is absolute racism, but I think it's bullshit that the black kid gets shot by a white man and it's national news, with the president even pressing about it; then the same shit happened to a white kid that was shot by a black man and no one cares. Fuck racism!!!!
I find it strange that the idea that one was picked because the victim was black and the other wasn't because the victim was white, troubling. Poor white people always getting beaten up and never getting on the news...
Okay let's play What's the Difference? 1. One was a thrill-kill murder that resulted in an arrest because duh. The other was not. Are we done?
Absolutely. Which makes it all that much odder that the lawful act of self defense brings outrage while a cold blooded murder gets no comment from the same people. Maybe justice isn't really what they're after.
I don't necessarily agree that Zimmerman is innocent, but thrill kill murder? You make it sound like Trayvon was Ice Tea and Zimmerman was Gary Busy hunting him in the woods.
No, that makes perfect sense. A large number of people did not feel that it was self defense. They wanted to see an arrest and see Zimmerman tried. The outrage is that the police let him go. It's not that hard to understand. Marley Lion was murdered in cold blood and his killers were arrested. No outrage because duh. Yeah, you got it backwards there.
No surprise, law enforcement did a great job investigating the Lion case: Charleston police have arrested four people in connection with the June 16 shooting of 17-year-old Marley Lion in a West Ashley parking lot. The arrests came Monday after a six-week investigation that involved surveillance video enhancement from the Secret Service and an undercover gun-buying operation with help from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. * * * Mullen credited lead Detective Richard Burkhardt for his day-and-night work on the case and thanked CrimeStoppers and private citizens for providing tips and information. His voice quavered as he announced the arrests and thanked the police department for its work. Later, he said this was one of two homicide cases that he will always remember, the other being the 2009 shooting of 15-year-old Jermel Brown. "Unfortunately, sometimes I don't think the community or maybe even the media understands that this is not just a job for us," Mullen said. "I take this personally. These people take it personally. We spend a lot of sleepless nights worrying about what's going to happen next, and you never want to get the call that there's a murder, but you certainly never want to get the call that it's a juvenile and it's for absolutely no reason at all." Mayor Joseph P. Riley Jr. also spoke at the press conference. "To those who have no regard for law, life, order, community, peace, and security — those who chose a life outside the law — this is my message to you," Riley said. "In Charleston, we will catch you, and you will go to jail. Your crime might be in the darkness of the night with seemingly no one around, but we will catch you, and you will go to jail. There is no place to hide. We will catch you as we did with Marley Lion's killers." And now that 4 people are arrested, how many do you think will get private attorneys like Zimmerman had to help them in court? Not that at think people should donate money for a private attorney, but this case is completely different from the Zimmerman case.
Well, it was their words against a dead 17 year old. I mean, there were four of them! How much clear and convincing evidence do you need? They obviously should have let them go.
Had they done honest work or inspired trust from others at some point in their lives through good deeds rather than live like jackals, they'd have private attorneys too. They shall reap that which they have sown.
I think Zimmerman should be burned alive. That way, all of our problems are solved, and nobody has any concerns tomorrow. Nice way for Obama to get the NSA/IRS/Snowden stuff off of the front pages, though. Incite riots, and distract the attention of LIVs.
Exactly. Honestly though, using abortion and immigration to distract the public was getting pretty old.
